Q: anybody know what size bolt is on the rack,not the clamps,but where the wing nut goes. I need 3/8 course thread?

The internal steel core is welded to a 3/8"-16 bolt and then covered in thick soft rubber . The wing nut is 3/8-16. And the U-bolts are 1/4-20 x 1 x 1 3/4"

Q: how big is the opening, to hold an object? thx!

At the top the opening is 2 1/4 inches and then tapers to 1 1/2 inches at the bottom.

Q: Is this the double as shown or a single?

It's 2 singles. Perfect for one firearm

Q: Says its also a bow rack. Any photos or other insight as to how one would attach a compound bow and crossbow?

I use these strictly for my crossbow. Technically you only need a set with one fork on each end. You can not have two forks on the end of your bow with arms. I keep two forks on one end and one fork on the other end. I keep two on in case I decide to go rifle hunting. Then I can just add the other fork on. The end with one fork is the end where the arms lay, the end with two is where the stock goes. Each bow will sit differently, so I can only tell you how mine sits. My cables sit against the forks very nicely and the handle grip sits right down in the other fork. However we did have to buy longer bolts for them because the ones included were too short and didn’t do high enough to get the forks above my seat.
