Vinegar Malt, 1 Gallon -- 4 per case

Starting to use this for almost all my vinegar needs. I love the flavor. Want to take the bitter out of cucumbers? Slice them or make strips, leave small ones whole (depends on what you want to do with them).Soak them in a brine of 6 C water to 1/2 C canning salt. Let them sit on counter for 24hrs. (They were too salty for me so I drained off the salt water and rinsed them then covered with water again and added a little malt vinegar to the water and put them in the fridge till the next day. They are delicious and no bitterness what so ever. I just pulled some out of the brine and added sweet onions to them and they are delicious.

This was a lot of malt vinegar but I read one review that said they used the malt vinegar for all their vinegar uses. I tried that and found it makes great salad dressings.

Now I can enjoy fish'n'chips at home and make all the 'pickled onions' and 'red cabbage ' that I want.Great for making toffee.

This vinegar is the only malt vinegar we use. It has a great taste ! The only drawback is the packaging isnt that great. I ordered another case recently and it was damaged and did not make it to me.

It is imperative that we have malt vinegar on our English fish and chips and I always used to buy it in the small 375ml sized bottles. Then I found this gallon jug and buying 4 at a time gives us a good supply. Excellent malt vinegar and much better value for money.

The product is fine. The packing was ridiculous.The Heinz box for the four gallons is a perfect container indicating which side is "up" BUT this was then placed in a much large box without any stuffing and no indication which side up, so the four gallons were left to be shaken around causing one container to leak.

Since vinegar stays good basically forever, I decided to get this bulk pack instead of paying 2.99 or 3.99 for 10 ounces when I buy the small bottles. I now just refill the old bottles for pennies.

This vinegar is soo good it is drinkable.
