COBIHistorical Collection: World War II Warships HMS HOOD

As with other Cobi products, the end product is beautiful and of very solid construction. The build process is mostly fun, and it's cool to see the final product come together and "emerge" from the pile of bricks. The instructions are, with one exception, clear and well illustrated. However, there are several points where the order of operations makes no sense whatsoever and you end up having to try to finagle two modules together in ways that would be much less difficult if a couple pieces were left off and then added after "soft-joining" the modules. Thankfully, most of these are easily fixed by just popping off a couple pieces and reattaching them later, but it still can get annoying. The only seriously frustrating part of the build was the tripod masts. For each mast, there are attachment points that need to be fitted on rods at precise angles and the instructions simply do not provide any useful guidance on the necessary angles; I ended up stuck in a long loop of partially assemble - disassemble - adjust - repeat. Still, definitely worth the money despite the few annoyances.

This model looks fantastic on display! I have most of the Cobi warships so far and this is one of my favorites.This will probably seem odd that I'm mostly listing complaints on something I rated 5 stars, but while it's not perfect, I'm very happy with it in my collection! I hope Cobi reads these reviews and may do something different on future models. My complaints are very minor though. It really is a great model.It's fairly accurate with a couple of exceptions. They used small pieces that are typically used as anti aircraft guns as the large 4" secondary guns on the deck. In that regard they've done better in other ships. There is also a spot near the bow where the pieces do not align perfectly. They fit together, but are under a lot of pressure. Lego fans would know this as an "illegal connection" and not something that should be done. It's not terribly obvious though the pieces that flex under pressure are very slightly visible. I doubt it'll bother most people. Lastly there is a piece on the prow that is grey but has black and red paint on it to match the hull. The red paint used doesn't quite match color of the red bricks on the hull. I've pointed this out to a few people and almost universally they thought it wasn't worth complaining about and it may only be my set!I've included pictures of both the illegal connection and the piece on the prow that doesn't quite match so you can see what I am talking about.As with all Cobi Warships, it's not really made to take apart. The pieces are virtually identical to Lego but they stick together better. Great for a model, not great if you want to take it apart. I imagine there'd be significant difficulty involved in getting some pieces away from others.

Very good value for money, the model goes together pretty well and there are some issues with accuracy but nothing huge just the secondary guns but due to the model being 1:300 it's understandable.

Have built many many many Cobi models. This model was the first time that I actually feel that steps were in the wrong order. On one step they asked to put attached something clearly into a spot that it did not fit...but would have fit a few steps previously.

There was a couple pieces missing and some of it was hard to build but overall an amazing set.

As with other Cobi ships, this model of the HMS Hood is a wonderful product. detailing the battlecruiser in excellent detail. She is my third Cobi ship and fits in greatly with the others I have. Will defiantly keep watching Cobi's ships.

Wieder super Cobi Qualität. Optisch ganz toll!Zu dem bunten Farbspiel:Das wenige bunte Farbspektrum dient zu einem verbesserten Aufbau bei. Markante Punkte. Daher das nachher diese Teile überbaut werden ist das relativ egal welche Farbe die haben.Die Türmchen mit den langen Stäbchen bauen sich nicht so gut auf. Hier muss man Stäbchenlänge beachten.Versand war rasend schnell und das Schiff sieht super und sehr stolz aus.

Das ist jetzt glaube ich mein neuntes oder zehntes Schiff von Cobi und insgesamt wieder ein sehr schönes Modell. Bautechnisch wie immer toll, nur hat die Anleitung einen kleinen Fehler. Gegen Ende des Rumpfes werden große Seitenteile angebaut, wobei Noppen gleichzeitig nach oben und zur Seite auf einander gedrückt werden sollen. Das geht nicht, aber das kriegt man mit etwas gefummel schon hin. Dazu gibt es eine Stelle, bei der zwei Brakets mit einem Stein verbunden werden, das ist eine Technik, die grundsätzlich nicht richtig funktioniert. Es passt zwar irgendwie, aber die Steine sind auf Spannung. Die Bunten Farben im inneren sind mir eigentlich egal, man sieht sie nach außen kaum und aus einander baut das eh keiner. Nun zum Titel meiner Rezension. Die Steine sind dieses mal nicht ganz so passgenau wie sonst. Sie sind immer noch ziemlich gut, aber es gibt zum Teil minispalte. Die Cobisteine fand ich immer etwas besser als die von Lego, dieses mal finde ich sie etwas schlechter.

Hiho :)Habe Ewigkeiten kein Klemmbausatz mehr gebaut. In der Grauen Jahreszeit habe ich einfach mal einen Bausatz rangeschafft , und es war einfach eine Riesen Freude und eine Menge Spaß und Ergeiz den man da Entwickelt :)Das Schiff sieht einfach Genial aus und wird einen Schönen Platz an der Wand oder Ähnliches finden.Preisleistung ist sehr gut und werde mir weitere Schiffe ( wenn sie wieder Verfügbar sind und Preislich annehmbar sind ) besorgen :)Es waren nur 3 Teile falsch, aber da die Steinchen kompatibel sind , Egal ^^Riesenspaß für Kind und Eltern :) Daumen mehr als Hoch ^^GrußAndre

Die HMS Hood ist bereits mein 4tes Schiff von Cobi und das mit Abstand schlechteste. Beim Aufbau erwartet einen eine Farbseuche, die keine Farbe auslässt! Die Steinequalität ist nicht gut, was dazu führt, dass große Spaltmaße entstehen oder auch, wie am Schornstein zu sehen, Teile trotz fest zusammen drücken sich wieder lösen. Der Knaller ist aber dass man die Deckbeplankung sieht, wenn man das Schiff von unten betrachtet!

Die COBI-Hood ist ein sehr schönes Modell. Die Details des Rumpfs und Decks sind sehr genau.Zusammenbau ist relativ einfach.Es muss gesagt werden, dass in der Zusammenbauanleitung ein Fehler ist und mehrere Teile fehlten. Diese wurden ohne große Probleme nachgeliefert, aber für diesen Umstand gibt es einen Stern minus.
