Very strong but doesn't fit in 55 gallon drum
Very solid and strong but doesn't fit in 55 gallon drum. I had previously purchased a Chinese made one that was junk, the threads would strip instead of tighten, so I returned that and bought this ones. This is made out of a much thicker and stronger material. It also has triangular profile threads which give it far more strength when tightening it up to the barrel. Also that thread is left handed which is nice as it doesn't loosen when tightening the fitting going into it. I'm very happy with it with one exception. It doesn't fit in thru one of the holes in the top of a 55 gallon drum. I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses this in a 55 gallon plastic drum as a rain barrel. I had to trim a lot of the hex off so I could get it in the barrel. There's no reason for the hex that goes in the barell to be that big. 1. You tighten the nut from the outside and don't have access to that hex anyway. The hex on the snout on the outside is a cool feature. 2. There's no reason to hold it from turning as it grips on to the inside of the barrel and doesn't turn while tightening the nut. If they got rid of the hex and made it a flange the size of the rubber seal it would drop right in a 55 gallon drum and isn't needed to tighten it.

Very sturdy, high quality
In case you have an open rain barrel, this is the piece to use (maybe together with Banjo HB075-90 Polypropylene Hose Fitting, 90 Degree Elbow, 3/4" NPT Male, if you want to attach a 3/4" hose). This is a super heavy duty bulk head connector - but with one drawback: it does not fit through a bunghole, so you will have to cut open a 55 gallons barrel in case you are using a "closed" barrel.

Very Good Quality/Fantastic Price
This bulkhead fitting is comparable in quality to those costing $13.00 or more. Home depot had a similar fitting for $18.00 and was a bulkier item that would have taken up more space on my aquaponic system. The installation jam-nut is reverse thread which was also very handy as it allowed me to create a close quarter group of fittings without the need for a union.I have used a few different sized Banjo fittings and they have all been better constructed than their Lifegard Aquatics counterparts.

Very solid and high quality bulkhead union
After giving up on the junk fittings at Home Depot and Lowes, I decided to try this on a 5 gallon bucket used for winterizing marine engines. This is an excellent quality bulkhead with the welcomes reverse threads. For the price this is a bargain too.

Will not fit standard holes in aquarium application
Bought these to use on an aquarium that is drilled with 1.5 inch holes for 3/4 inch bulkheads which is industry standard. These will NOT fit a standard 1.5" hole. The quality of construction is fine, but the fact they dont fit a standard hole for a 3/4 inch bulkhead is why I gave it 2 stars. If your tank is drilled for 1 inch bulkheads ( 1.75 industry standard) then these will work.

Heavy duty fitting
This it not a cheaply made fitting. Very heavy duty. Probably more than I needed, but if you're using it for a large barrel this should do the trick nicely. As long as you have the means of cutting a big hole to install it and can get behind it to hold the nut to tighten it up, you be good to go for a long time.

Watertight!
Make sure you use the correct hole saw size and put the gasket on the WATER side and it works wonderfully!

Built rugged.
Strong, thick material. Just be aware of the dimensions. Being strong and heavy duty, the hole needed for the fitting of os quite a bit bigger than the fitting id.
