Precision-molded from premium grade polypropylene plastic, these sterilized plastic culture tubes are ideal for a wide range of applications. The polypropylene is opaque in color, but is without the typical breakage problems associated with glass test tubes. Each tube is graduated to 15mL, and has a total capacity of 16mL. They have an outer diameter of 17mm (15mm inside diameter), and a length of approximately 100mm (10cm). With a cap, their length is extended to around 101mm (10.1cm). They feature a fermentation cap that has been specifically designed for optimal reliability and the containment of samples. The cap has 2 possible positions, one providing aerobic sample storage, and the other anaerobic. Each bag has undergone sterilization by gamma irradiation. Polypropylene culture tubes are capable of being autoclaved, but the caps are not.
