These are 100% fantastic
These are 100% fantastic shooting buds. The volume is better than Sony ear buds. The ambient amplifier is great I was able to hear birds chirpping at 60 yards away. The wind noise can be heavy in ambient mode but the easy to use buttons can quickly quite it down. All in all this buy was a win.

Wanted to like them
6 pairs later, and a lot of back and forth with support (who were great) still not functioning properly. Either a case issue or charging issue with one of the buds. Also one MAJOR flaw in the design, which all $20 headsets do- the power off button only shuts off the right ear piece. The left piece stays on and connected. Even in the charging case. At least the charging case should turn it off but it doesn't. Most of the time, the charging issue is usually with the left piece. Maybe the issues are connected( unlike the right and left ear piece). This really sucks, because I'll be using my normal phone headset, talking to some one on the phone, and I'll walk by the case and it will randomly connect to the left ear piece inside, and disconnect me from the set I'm currently using. Big fail! Took me awhile to figure out what was happening. Had to 'forget' the shadow max in Bluetooth setting to stop it from doing that. Then any time I want to use the Shadow Max, I have to repair. These things need an effective overhaul and redesign before being good. There seems to be better competitors on the market, that you can at least turn off. Nobody can blame me for trying to make it right and using their support service to make it right, only to lose my return window on Amazon. So much for trying to do business with an American company who "stands by their product".I would not recommend purchasing these, and I do not value Caldwell as a reputable company any longer. They only offered me credit on there website, most of anything that I might be interested in wasnt available, and anything that was available had terrible reviews, so it wasn't worth getting those either.

These are awesome!
Not having had any previous experience with Caldwell electronic hearing protection, I was somewhat skeptical about these - hoping they'd connect to bluetooth well, would cancel loud noise, and hoped the hear-through would work well. So I figured I'd give them a try and worst case could send them back if they were junk. But fortunately, I've taken them on several dove hunts now and am happy that they work great! They fit very well, are very comfortable, don't slip out of my ears, the battery lasts a long time, hook up quickly to bluetooth, hear-through works GREAT, and noise isolation works instantly to block off sounds when firing. All that said, I had hoped I would like them, and after using them a few times, I like them much more than I expected!

Forgetting they are in my ears
Very comfortable. Attenuating sounds down to 85dB still seams a little loud, but it does work.I paired them with my GMRS radio and they work very good. I like the way the radio comes in slightly higher than the surrounding sound when someone transmits. Not superhuman hearing like my Impact muffs, but pretty good.

Could use some improvement
Bought this as a more comfortable alternative to earmuffs and so I could take calls while shooting. While the active noise cancelling is great and they are comfortable, the microphones pick up every bit of wind noise that annoys whomever is on the other line. The second major issue is if you have the foamies installed for shooting they tend to push against the inside of the charging case; causing the earbuds to lose connectivity with the charging contacts within the case; so then when you go to use them they’re almost dead.

BEWARE
Had a problem with the case not charging. Not charging the earbuds and also not charging the case itself. Customer service was extremely easy go deal with and made it right immediately. I used to use them as my everyday but now just use them for the range. I would 100% recommend these. All electronics will malfunction from time to time, what matters is if the company makes it right. These guys do!

I wish I'd returned these
I have a pair of Caldwell E-MAX Shadows, and I like them, but they could be better, so when these popped up on sale, I decided to upgrade to the Pro. From the beginning, I struggled. As the return window drew to a close, I debated sending them back. I convinced myself it was a learning curve and it'd get better. I now see I was wrong. I should have returned them.My complaints:First, if you're using ambient sound, they allow way too much in before they cut off. At the range, I cannot use ambient, which kinds of defeats the purpose of electronic ear pro. Second, you cannot control the volume of the ambient sound unless you've paired them to a device. You don't control the volume on the device, but the volume control on these doesn't work unless it's paired, so you can't just pop them in and go; instead you have to stop and pair them. Third, after just a couple of months, they don't take a full charge. When you drop them in the case, it tells you you've got, say, three bars of juice, but it never charges beyond that. Is it just the display in the case? No -- pair them with your phone, and it'll tell you they're only at 70%. Fourth, they're hard to get seated correctly in my ear for some reason. I have to fight with them more than any ear plug I've used.I really liked the base model except for a couple of things, so I expected to love the Pro. I do not. I still have the others and use them more. Save your money and buy that model.

Works good for everyday hearing protection.
My left ear was damaged so I don’t have an auditory reflex so loud noises are uncomfortable. Nothing beats full over the ear muffs but they get hot sweaty in the yard. These work great plus I get my phone calls music is not as loud as my AirPods probably since they were designed to protect hearing. The cut out circuit seems like it’s slower than my over the ears muffs but still works well. Give them a four for comfort because they do have foam pads that you have to compress and squeeze into your ear and that does cause some fatigue. Is it worth it? Yes I would buy them again

Really pleased
First off arrived well in advance of the time quoted. They are really comfortable and block out the noise well. I use them for clay pigeon shoot. You can also hear comfortably with them on and can turn it up as well if needed! If you play music through them they seem reasonable. Not aa good as maybe a dedicated music headphone but certain more than OK for what they are used for!Really happy with my purchase!
