Tasty and affordable couverture chocolate
Ordered this from Van Houten’s official distributor, mumbai based Delta Nutritives. Theres no better chocolate couverture in this price range. Ordered in march 2022 and received a october 2021 manufactured stock, which is very recent considering this is imported. The chocolate can be used for various baking purposes, however, i eat it as it as it substitutes for any other dark chocolate (55% dark). Once you taste couverture chocolate, you will never ever have a compound chocolate (which in real doesnt have any cocoa butter).

The product is wonderful but best to order in cooler months.
Great for making baked goods or even just snacking. My only complaints are that the delivery time is a week and now the seller has added a delivery surcharge of 100 rupees which was not there before.

Is overall satisfactory.but i can taste some coconut and compound fat in the chocolate.
The chocolate is dark, has a slower melt in mouth—- a little less dark than bournville 70%. The chocolate also has some feel of compound fat on the tongue. And carful examination will yield some coconut smell and taste too.When I unboxed the chocolate from its wrapper, I could smell a significant amount of coconut.Barry callebaut should improve this brand—- needs a more smoother melt in mouth feel and needs to be rid of the compound and coconut fat.Overall, budget and satisfactory buy.Those who can afford should ditch this and go for 55% callebaut chocolate 1kg pack or 13-12 bars of Cadbury bournville 80grams.Review after 23 days of usage:First of all, I received this chocolate out of temper so as a beginner who doesn’t own a thermometer, this was highly disappointing as my truffles kept on melting at room temperature. Please note that you’ll receive out of temper chocolate and buy keeping that in mind.Secondly, the taste of coconut lingers in one’s mouth after enjoying this raw or in a truffle ganache, so expect that too.Thirdly, I request the seller to find a way to ship unmelted chocolate as this is a very large brick and makes working difficult when out of temper. Lastly, Vanhouten needs to improve this chocolate a lot more, had I any option 1% better I wouldn’t buy this again. Especially becoz I absolutely despise coconut in chocolate.’
