Great Sharpener!
I researched both high & low dollar sharpeners for my knives & I took a chance on this one. I must say, it does quite a nice job! Follow the instructions & you will have a very sharp result. I am very impressed by this 3 stage sharpener so far even if it's made in China. Feels very sturdy & does it's job in seconds.

Speed and convenience count... this is a great sharpener
I'm a long-term woodworker with an array of edge tools (chisels, planes, gouges). I have a number of sharpening stones (water stones up to 6000 grit, motorized water stones, diamond stones, ceramics, etc.). I've spent a great deal of money and time learning to get a surgical edge (really much better than surgical) in a minimum of time. This inexpensive device put a smile on my face. It's not the same as sharpening on a several-hundred dollar waterstone collection, but for less than twenty bucks it really does seem to be a good solution. The diamond slot (#1) is aggressive and good for taking out nicks. The carbide slot (#2) is interesting... it really isn't an abrasive, it's more of a burnisher, and that's pretty cool. If you've ever used a scraper in woodworking, you'll appreciate what a burnisher can do. It's an important step in sharpening, and I really like the fact that they made this "step two." The ceramic slot (#3) is a nice, fine abrasive – suitable for a final stage. Probably equivalent to a 3000 grit waterstone... not as fine as some of my ceramic stones. The instructions mention repeating #2 (carbide) and #3 (ceramic) for a nice edge. I'd recommend a #2-3-2-3-2 pattern, ending with the burnishing. But whatever you do, this will definitely restore an edge in a couple of minutes, and it's so easy you can do it on a whim. Is it as good as waterstones? Nope, but it's fast, and that's important. Waterstones, or any other exotic system, have a fatal flaw, and that is time and inconvenience. Sure you can get an impressive edge, but most knives simply aren't the best edge steel, so your carefully manicured edge will be dull again sooner than you think. You can keep this guy in your knife drawer and use it in an instant. For the kitchen, speed and convenience count. This is a great sharpener

Great Sharpener.
Wow does this thing work great ! Whether you are right or left handed it is easy to use but watch out; with just a few swipes your knives get really sharp. You can't beat the price either.

Very disappointed whith this sharpener
Very disappointed whith this sharpener. Tried to sharpen 2 pocket knives and 1 hunting knife. I am terrible at sharpening a knife with a stone and can get the knife no sharper with this sharpener. Does not sharpen them well enough to be realistically useful. Worked a little better with kitchen (small knifes such as paring knives).. Would not recommend this to anyone. Have a Smiths sharpener that worked much better but the carbide is worn out and is not replacable. Will try to find a like Smiths sharpener.

Nothing like a sharp knife
I've been using this sharpener for a few months now. What I have found is that this is an excellent product.I have used this on fillet, hunting, chef, and steak knives. Each time I use it, the knife gets better. It is nice to have the diamond sticks to reset the edge, followed by steel and ceramic to really give your knife a clean and easy cut.I don't recommend using the diamond sticks often. They are meant to start the edge from scratch and do a good job of it. A touch of with the ceramic sticks can help clean dings or folds off of your edge.Usually, I will run the knife through the steel once (after it is sharp), then only use the ceramics.I would recommend this to anyone.

More than adequate for my "fair-quality" kitchen knives
I have a kitchen knife - a Cuisinart, nothing too fancy or expensive, that i just love. But I've worn this blade down so badly that my wal-mart-bought knife sharpener (with steel and ceramic surfaces) just doesn't cut it anymore. (no pun intended)I needed a diamond surface to reshape my blade, and this Miracle Sharpener did help me restore my blade to its original sharpness. It's sturdy and well-built (aside from the fimsy glued-on silver part you see by the 3 sharpening slots, that thing pops off, no big deal though). I've sharpened my cuisinart, and my mom's dollar-store knives. This thing works great and was well worth the money. If I had super nice expensive knives, I'd invest in a sharpening stone or something instead... but for medium-quality steel, at least, I'm more than happy with this Miracle Sharpener.
