Nice affordable protection without much bulk.
I've tried out three different cases (Insignia, Official premium console case and Hori) and I found a keeper in the Hori case. The insignia was too long by a few inches and i felt the system sliding around. The premium console case was nice, but I didn't care too much for the mesh pocket for the system. The protection was also a bit flimsy.Enter the Hori Tough Pouch case. You get a great mix of semi hard plastic protection, without much bulk and weight. its officially licensed so you know the dimensions are pretty spot on. On the flap, there are fairly deep slots for 5 games plus an elastic strap to hold accessories, but it works great with the Joy Con straps. With the straps inserted, it puts the perfect amount of pressure to keep the system in place. Without the grips in the accessory holder, i felt the Switch slide laterally very slightly. The dual zippers are metal and seems fairly durable. Having two zippers will allow you to charge your Switch while keeping the system protected.CONS:There are no elastic straps included for the console so you need to be careful when opening the case. As long as you open it with the case horizontal, it shouldn't be a problem. Just remember that the switch logo is only on the front of the case. The back case is blank. Keep that in mind and that should help you open it right side up.Because the bottom of the case is flat and the Joy Con are not, there is more pressure up at the triggers. If you look closely you can see some slight indentation on the inside of the case because of this. I don't really see this as a problem as the case and Joy Cons seem durable enough to last. If you decide to charge while in the case, keep in mind that the switch will be at an angle and the USB cable will be sitting on the edge of the case. This puts some pressure on the cable end and the charging port. Its not ideal, but probably won't affect the hardware, but just something to keep in mind.Despite the few negatives, I think this is one of the better launch cases out there.

Quality case for your new Nintendo Switch
What’s Hot:+ Made of Quality Material+ Has slots for a few Nintendo Switch+ InexpensiveWhat’s Not:- Limited Game Slots- No place for Joy-Con Grip- I feel like there should be a handle or strap somewhere on it…Design: 4Looking at this Nintendo Switch Pouch there really isn’t much to complain about. It fits the console snugly with the Joy-Cons attached. It has room for a few games as well as a USB Type-C cable.Durability: 5As of now the HORI Nintendo Switch pouch serves its purpose. I put my console in the pouch and then throw it in my camera or my laptop bag. As of now my console is still in mint condition and i have this pouch to thank for it.Value: 4.5This is a great price point for the quality of an officially licensed product. If Nintendo, made this themselves it would probably retail at $19.99+.Final ThoughtsI really enjoyed this product from HORI and looking forward to picking you more product from them in the near future. If you need a carrying case / pouch for the Nintendo Switch i highly recommend checking this one out.

Great at its intended purpose: Transportation
It's good for transporting from one place to the next; would have liked more space for more games or accessories, but it gets the job done. I personally carry a messenger bag with me everywhere so I just put it in a pocket and it's good, though I'll need to get a separate item for carrying games (once more come out). It can hold up to 5 games and one small accessory (like a USB-USB C wire; it can't hold the charger it comes with). Can't really complain. There is no strap or anything holding the Switch in place, but I personally like that because it's less of a hassle to remove the console from the pouch. Just pick it up and you're good to go. Oh and this isn't a case to play the system while it's inside, unless they start making touch-screen only games, then you probably could.TL;DR: Definitely worth the money if you want an affordable, cheap, durable case. You won't be wronged here.

Compatible with OLED version.
I purchased this case in 2017 for my switch and it did everything I wanted, protected the system in my backpack, fit a few physical game cartridges, and was lightweight and portable.I recently upgraded to the OLED model and while the original switch had a little bit of space on the sides inside the case, the OLED model fits nice and snug inside.I was concerned it wouldn't fit the new model but I had nothing to worry about as it fits in the case perfectly.

Great quality, worth the extra bit of cash for the design.
Case fits great! It cost a bit more than the other cases like this on Amazon, but I thought it was worth it because I know HORI makes quality products, and I liked the look/feel of the design on the outside of the case. There is no rubber band thing to secure the Switch in the case, but I didn't want one anyway because I think they get in the way of putting the Switch in, and they don't help much in securing the Switch (My switch doesn't fall out because I don't open the case upside down.... and I don't leave it unzipped while the Switch is in there, things I would do with or without the bands). The games fit snug, and there's space for the strips that go on the controllers when you pop them off for multiplayer, which is everything I want (I don't carry the charger because I leave it on the dock, and my phone charger is USB Type-C with enough current to charge the Switch too, if I needed). This was exactly the case I needed!

Not bad - does the job!
The media could not be loaded. This is a nice case - fits the Switch and Joycons perfectly, has room for the JoyCon attachments and five games and has a screen protector to prevent scratching. The case overall feels pretty good - it's not a hard case but a rigid soft case. It doesn't have a lot of padding but I think it's enough to protect the Switch from minor drops or damage that it might get being out of a case inside another bag. But I would not abuse it. I intend to use mine with a larger travel bag.It does tend to collapse a bit in the middle if the joycon attachments are not strapped in. They help to provide some additional rigidity to the case.

Does the job, but would like a higher end version
I purchased this after seeing my friend's version and how well it fits the Switch. The case is fairly well made, and the exterior is nice and tough which is what you want to protect your Switch. The little flat inside holds games, joycon attachments, and is also nicely padded and soft to protect the screen on the Switch itself. There's also a little bit of soare room inside for if you want to carry a cleaning cloth or other small accessories. For the switch compartment, it fits really snugly and I don't worry that the Switch is moving around. My reasons for 4/5 stars are that I wish there were some small improvements: It would be nice to have a more moulded compartment for the joycon attachments, at the moment they slip in under the elastic in the divider, which is fine but a bit inelegant. If you leave them loose in the upper compartment they tend to drop out every time you open the case. It would also be nice if there was a strap for the Switch just to make it extra secure in its compartment. This has only happened a couple of times, but if you open the case at the wrong angle it tries to slip out, which could cause damage, so take care when opening the case.If such a higher end, more secure case comes out I'll be buying it, but for the time being this one is nice and touch and does the job. It also slides nicely into a bag or large pocket.

Great case, though fairly basic for the price.
This Hori case does exactly what you'd expect, it holds your Switch console. It's made of tough material, protecting the console from harm while it's in your bag. It includes a flap to cover the screen, which also holds 5 game cartridges and has space for an additional accessory (I'm guessing the two joy-con wrist straps), and a strap which holds the Switch firmly in place. As as said at the start of this review, the case does as you'd expect, but nothing more, there's no additional webbing (as seen in other cases, for headphones, cables, or additional joy-cons). So keep that in mind when making a purchase.

Too big
HORI have been around for decades and have a solid reputation built on fighting sticks and pads. I've spent many an hour playing Street Fighter 2 using a HORI pad on various systems. When it comes to things such as this, their reputation is perhaps a little less polished. This case is indeed fairly tough, but it's also way, way too big. The width and height are not too far off, but the height is pretty much ridiculous and is double the thickness it should be. The Switch isn't small to begin with, so bulking it up even more with this gigantic case isn't the best plan. Not terrible then, but far from good.

Now contains tight strap not shown in pictures
Whilst the case is well fitting to the switch and seems sturdy enough from the outside, it now has a wide, tight fitting strap on the inside that goes over the middle of the switch in order to hold it in place. This isn't shown in the pictures.Whilst i understand the intention, it means getting the switch in and out involves pulling the strap and bending the case somewhat, to get the switch out without snagging the joycon controllers. This leaves you putting pressure on the opposing end of the switch that you're pulling out and the attached joycon there.I've never used mine for this reason and will likely bin the case.

Good alternative to the official case
Unless you're ok with scratches I would definitely recommend getting a case for your Nintendo Switch no matter what. The HORI Switch Tough Case is a cheaper alternative to the official Nintendo Switch case. It is a hard shell case which can fit 5 Switch cartridges along with the joy-con grips. On the bottom flap there is a soft material there to protect the screen while you're moving around. It's not a snug fit as there is a slight gap which may cause your Switch to move around a bit.
