宝石の透過のために、CREE XP-L HIという遠距離用のLEDをリフレクターなしで搭載するというこのライト。指先でダイヤルを操り、初めは弱い光で石の中のみたい部分を探して光漏れがないように固定し、そこから光強度を強くしていくという使い方ができ、慣れてくるとほとんど光を漏らさずに石の中にあてられる。最高強度だとすぐに熱くなるし、リフレクターがないから集光しないし...ライトとしての汎用性はまったくないが、そこにこそ目的に特化させた、専用の道具としての美しさを感じさせる。
