Great reading for an 8-year-old
I purchased this book for an 8-year-old who loves superheroes as Spiderman, Ironman, and Captain America. I thought this would be perfect for him to enkindle a love for God's superheroes, his Saints. Thanks. God bless!

New and interesting
My children loved this book and they've ready many, many books on the lives of the Saints. It was great to be introduced to new Saints and other holy men that we've never heard of!

Just What I've Been Looking For: Great Book for Encouraging and Inspiring Young men
This book is perfect. For years, I've been looking for books for boys. Books to inspire them to learn about their faith, to emulate the virtues of courage, perseverance, kindness, resilience.Found it. God's Superheroes: Amazing Catholic Men is awesome. Each story is relevant, easy to read but not at all babyish or sermonizing. Real facts, well told.Mary's an excellent storyteller. (full disclosure, I'm acquainted with the author) She's a very spiritual, inspiring choir director and teacher with years of experience in reaching people (young and old).My younger son loves books about the saints. With other books, I've always had to paraphrase the too-flowery or boring parts. No need to do that here, every word is clear and engaging. This book is ideal for my non-Catholic grandsons as well, a sneaky way to introduce them to the faith and pique their curiosity. In God's Superheroes: Amazing Catholic Men, Mary Bajda draws them into the lives of brave young men, not much older than they are. The book contains stories of saints from long ago, but also many recent saints people might not know. Perfect for 8-12 year olds, and really, for the rest of us too.

Interesting info about well-known and not so well known heroes of the church
Short 2 to 3 page articles about some real heroes of the Catholic Faith with an anime type illustration to go with each story. I am going to use this with my CCD class of 5th and 6th grade boys to help them learn more about both modern and early church heroes. The stories are short enough that they can be read as part of the class.

Exciting way to get boys into their faith!
Got my 12 year old this book because we're Catholic and he is really big into superheros. I had already gotten the women superheroes book from this series for my daughter and was happy to find my son was just as excited to read this edition. It is very well written, easy for a young boy to read and brings to life some of the adventures and accomplishments of the most interesting men of the Catholic faith and the Bible. It's so refreshing to see my child in to something other than a video game or movie. The illustrations are way better than comic books and the stories keep his interest. I'd definitely recommend this book to any Catholic parent looking to get their child more onto their faith. It would make a great first communion or confirmation gift.

Wonderful diverse exciting stories aimed at empowering kids to be God's superheros themselves,
This book was a great way to not only introduce my children to some inspiring dynamic superheroes but also to addtress some questions they may have about some Catholic topics such as the power of the Eucharist, why bad things happen, being prolife, the role of Our Lady, social justice, and the some of the great things Catholics have done to help people to name just a few. The book also tries to help kids relate by showing that the superheores had many of the same interests and problems that kids of today still experience. My kids love both books and read them over and over.

Great for reading on feast days!
As a kindergarten Catholic school teacher I keep these books on-hand to read to my students especially on feast days. They are very informative and easy to read and understand. The children love the stories and illustrations and it helps them realize that Saints are real people and their stories really happened which is so important to the Catholic faith in a world full of fantastic falsehoods that kids live in today.
