POMONA WELLNESS Vision Support Multivitamin: Supports Vision Function and Overall Health (120 Count, 60 Day Supply)

Helped my tired, dry eyes.
As I age, I notice that my eyes are not what they used to be. This isn’t to say that my vision is going (although it is to some extent), but also that the supporting mechanisms for my eyes (e.g., tear ducts) are aging and not performing like they should. I have not tried a vision support supplement before, but I saw these from Pomona Wellness, they looked like they could be good quality, so I wanted to give them a try. These pills are just capsules with a white powder in them. They about the same size as the bulk of the other supplements out there that come in these capsules (there are smaller ones, but these are not the largest and about as large as I’d want to go for easy swallowing). The recommended dose is two capsules with a meal per day. I’m not sure that it matters if you take them earlier or later in the day as I didn’t notice a difference. After about a week of taking these vision support supplements, I noticed that my eyes didn’t feel as dry or filmy as they used to. I found that my eyes didn’t feel as irritated and that I wasn’t fighting off the urge to rub them as much. This in tern helped my vision as it was a bit clearer as the lenses of my eyes were now better hydrated, did a better job at washing away particles that get into them, and allowed me to see clearer. The immediate benefit I noticed for this is first thing in the morning when I get up is that it doesn’t take my eyes nearly as long to “wake up” so that I can see clearly.I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started taking these supplements, but after having taken them for a couple of weeks, I certainly will continue to take them as the results were truly noticeable (not like some other supplements that should be good for you in the long run, but you don’t really notice if you take them or not). While I wouldn’t say these work miracles, they helped me.

A newer brand, a good dosage of Lutein!
Since my eyesight has deteriorated after working too much in front of the computer, I have been taking Lutein regularly (as recommended by my doctor). Now, I am kind of trying out multivitamins that focus on improving vision in addition to lutein. So when this showed up on my recommended page, I didn’t hesitate to request it. However, I thought it was weird that Pomona Wellness didn’t set up its own webpage yet. That’s usually a bit of a red flag for me when I try the brand for the first time. However, I was still curious, so I searched about the brand a bit more. So, Pomona Wellness is manufactured and owned by a company called, Levas Import LLC, which has been establishing various trademarks containing “Pomona” in its name. For example, Pomona organic juices, Pomona, Pomona products, Pomona organic, and Pomona wellness. This Pomona wellness is quite a new one as they filed for trademark in May, 2020; it seems like the company was extending its business to dietary supplements. I think the reason they didn’t (or couldn’t) set up the website using this particular name 'Pomona Wellness' is that there is opposition pending on its trademark ( not 100% sure that’s the reason, but I think it could be). So the status of trademark for Pomona Wellness is 774, which means there is a party that has opposed registration of the mark. So USPTO dates must have been suspended, while the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceeds with the review of the opposition. Anyway, I felt that has nothing to do with quality of products, and it seems like various supplements from this brand have generated quite favorable reviews on Amazon, so I gave it a go. I don’t expect this to magically improve my eyesight however, as I have been already taking Lutein and other supplements that help it as well. What I liked about this particular one is that it has a good amount of lutein for multivitamin compared to many other vision supplements at comparable prices. I will definitely update my review if I find something worthy of sharing after finishing the rest of the bottle!

A decent mix of eye healthy supplements, does not include zeaxanthin
Research (AREDS2 study) shows that taking a product containing lutein and zeaxanthin can reverse damage in the center of the retina in people who have macular degeneration. This disease runs in my family, so my eye doctor has recommended I add these supplements to my daily diet as a preventative measure. These capsules contain a good mix of eye healthy supplements including 20 mg of lutein. However, they do not contain zeaxanthin, one of the primary ingredients in the AREDS study. I do like that the manufacturer discloses the actual amount of ingredients in each serving. Too many companies say only "proprietary blend", leaving the consumer to try and figure out what dose they are getting. The capsules are medium-size and not difficult to swallow. A full serving is two capsules. There are 60 capsules in the bottle, so a 30 day supply. At the time of my review, this works out to a little over one dollar per day, a little pricier than some of the other brands I have tried.3½ stars

A good quality vision targets supplement to add to your daily mix.
Getting older, I have been researching more and more on what supplements my body will require and need. During a regular vision screening, I was advised that I should start taking vision supplements. They gave a few brands recommendations, and while this was not one, these contain the same ingredients and some with a slightly higher concentration.I like the look of the bottle and the feel of the label. The pills are what I would say are your standard size capsules. Visually looking at them all, they appear to be filled and sealed.I have had no side effects or any after tastes from taking these.I would consider taking these if the price came down closer to comparable better-known products. At the current price, it puts these as one of the more expensive vision supplements.
