I got this to try to simulate sunrise in my very dark apartment not that I expected it to brighten the room or anything just have a gradual increase of light next to my bed and here is where I encountered the problem. There is no gradual increase of light it boom sudden flash when the time is set. And yes the directions are very silly not explanaing the special functions of the clock but a person willing to fiddle a bit can get the basics figured out on their own. There are only 6 colors to choose from and on the brighter settings makes for a neat lamp. The nature sounds are a bit meh but a nice addition and the fm radio actually surprised me working. Great idea in concept but who knows maybe out there is a free app that does the same thing. Need an alarm clock. Skip this one. Fancy nightlight sure try this.

This is an awesome buy. My kids love the color change lights and the volume on the radio is perfect for listening in the shower. Lightweight but sturdy. So far no complaint.

Love this thing, just use the light , use it in conjunction with my usual alarm but this helps me to wake up refreshed & without jumping out of my skin. Thank you

The description said lights up gradually, it seems to get to the brightest when it goes off, them goes dark when the alarm goes off.

I bought this because it seemed like a good, cheaper alternative to the other name brand version. I was pleasantly surprised with this product. When reading through the instructions, I was very impressed with all of the cool features it has! I love that you can turn off the display completely at night to avoid any unwanted light and I love that you can essentially use it as a lamp. The buttons on the clock are also very receptive to touch. I only deducted a star because it is pretty confusing... The instructions are a MUST. Once I get used to which buttons do which functions, I'm sure it will be a walk in the park. With anything new, there is a learning curve. Overall, this product is a great value for the price.

The clock works great, I absolutely love this light and the nature sounds it makes! It turns light up gradually starting about 30 minutes before your alarm time, at your set alarm time it then plays the radio or music. Have to say I love this alarm clock:)
