We use these for 8x8 platform
Good DECT phones, we have used several different units including Yealink 52H and a Panasonic DECT phone. We basically use whatever is supported by our preferred vendor. This phone works well and we have a number of them deployed.

You need a business account (Google Workspace) to use this phone.
You need a business account (Google Workspace) to use this phone. If you don't have a well developed web presence which you or a staff member maintains, this isn't for you.I'd been using a ObiTalk 200 on Google Voice for years when I discovered it and it's technology are about to lose it's support on the voIP networks.I went to the Poly site, since they had bought out ObiTalk and guessed that all of their products would work on Google Voice. Not true. The vendor was very understanding when I (with much egg on my face) asked to return the phone.

AMAZING! EASY SETUP, Works VERY WELL with DialPAD. Minimal tech skills required!
I am the manager for a VERY busy medical office, I actually purchased this phone (Polycom VVX D230) for use with DIALPAD, and I NEVER leave reviews, but in this case I had to, because this phone is amazing, and I want to share my experience in case there is another office manager out there who is unsure wether or not this device will work well. We have several Polycom VVX Desk Phones set up in our medical office, but we needed something with a WIRELESS handset, and this was the only compatible Polycom VVX Phone we could find which features a wireless handset. I was hesitant to buy this phone at first because I have read many negative amazon reviews on this product, but 99% of them were setup/trouble shooting issues. We decided to move forward anyway and purchase the phone because we really didn't have any other options, and I am SO happy we did. The set up for this d230 literally took me 30 seconds with DIALPAD, and also this was the EASIEST setup for a POLYCOM VVX phone I have ever done (We have many different VVX phones). The sound, ringer and speakerphone all work very well, and all of the expected settings are there. The battery is replaceable, and the menu is very easy to navigate. No its not a touch screen, but realistically this is a wireless handset, so some features are not available, and in my opinion it is a very fair trade for the mobility and range of this device. The only real downside is that you have to plug the base in by ethernet because it does not have a USB port, so you cannot use a wireless OBI WIFI adapter. My phone was brand new and in perfect condition when it arrived as described, so we are ordering 2 more this week. In conclusion, we are very happy with our purchase, this is honestly a very good phone, do not let the bad reviews scare you off. Hope this was helpful! (My experience is with DIALPAD, check with your VOIP Provider for compatibility before making a purchase.)

Configuration system is VASTLY different than the VVX and earlier series phones
Looks like a Polycom (now Poly) and even looks a lot like the D60 phone which pairs with a VVX500 or 600 deskphone. BUT the firmware interface is NOTHING remotely like that for VVX500/600 deskphones or Polycom's earlier IP phones. There will be a significant learning curve figuring out how to set up one of these phones for your SIP provider. It ought to be possible to configure these for a generic SIP pbx, but little info is provided. It appears that these phones are actually part of Poly's new Obi line and so are actually related to the VVX 250/250/450 line which is very different from the VVX500/501 and VVX600/601 phones. The crazy thing is that nothing in Poly's promo materials explains this. The D230 is not listed on the Obi line pages, and there is no info on the D230 page that would indicate that it is a fundamentally different device than the 500/600 series phones.Do not expect help from Poly's customer support. This is nothing new - polycom does not provide end user support. Their support forum provides only limited information, with nearly every post telling you to go back to the authorized dealer who sold the phone to you.The VVX500/600 series desk phones are great, and are easily configured. This thing - not so much. I'm sending it back - not worth the learning curve, when the older D60 will take care of my needs. The D60 will work ONLY when paired with a 500/600 series phone. But because it piggybacks off the deskphone, configuration is drop dead simple.
