Merrell Men's Thermo Glacier Mid Waterproof Snow Boot

I bought these hoping they would help keep my feet warm in the winter. They do not do that however I feel as sure footed as a mountain goat out here in rural America on mud, snow, and ice. Our temperatures here in winter hover between the 20's - 40's in winter generally. I thought that with a name like "Thermo Glacier" boots that are advertised as insulated at the toes boots would be warmer. If you buy these boots get yourself some warm wool socks. My feet froze in these boots wearing wool blend socks but were warm with a $25 quality pair of wool socks. I will be looking for a better insulated winter boot next fall. I normally wear a 12 1/2 wide but bought these boots in 13 regular and they surprisingly fit great. Also I have plantar fasciitis but use a custom made orthopedic insole. These shoes did not hurt my feet at all.

Overall a great hiking winter boot, I work as a surveyor In the mountains, bought this because I love my Merrel jungle moc shoes. I would have gone to a wife which I don’t normally due. But other wise a Greta boot, my feet stayed warm and dry, used with gaiter when in deep snow. Works great

Wanted to like these boots. Have a couple pairs of other Merrell hiking boots and wanted something insulated. Since there are dozens to choose from online I decided to try Merrell since I like the brand. While these boots are reasonably well made and have sufficient insulation with a warm pair of socks, they are simply too tight for me. And my feet are not “wide” by shoe store measurements. All in all, I do like the boots and wish they were a touch wider as they would have been almost ideal winter hikers. If you have medium/narrow feet, these may be the ticket.

I have spent hours in them hiking and doing circles around my yard (2020). There is a "Wet Ice Tech" stamp on the tread, so I tried it out and they really do seem to help. I wouldn't try tap dancing of wet ice, but I was steadier. It may be due to the pattern of softer porous and hard smooth treads.

The media could not be loaded.  I love that the boots have no grommets that stand out off the top of boot. My snowshoe straps would bush down on my old boot grommets and hurt my feet.

Part of the boot has pressure point on my right ankle. The medial arch is pronounced as well

The boots fit well and they are warm.

Husband loves these! They were a Christmas gift so I was worried how they would fit. He has worn them several times and said they are some of his most comfortable shoes.

Après quelques semaines d'utilisation dans le climat Québécois, je change mon évaluation. La semelle commence a décoller et les bottes mouillent rapidement même si impermeabilisées au silicone. Les semelles deviennent mouillées après 30 minutes d'utilisation dans la neige, c'est fait pour "utiliser sur du sec" et la vocation est pour usage léger...rien d'indiquer pour expédition ou autre ça c'est certain

cogi el nº 45, son ligeramente mas pequeñas que las columbia y lowa renegade, con calcetín grueso de lana toca la punta del dedo ligeramente, me las quedo porque usare calcetines delgados de lana, al tener aerogel no creo que sea necesario llevar mas gruesos. como negativo... Los enganches son de plástico, el cordon no entra hasta el fondo por ser los ganchos estrechos y si no vas con cuidado al abrochar se sale el cordon del gancho, una vez que esta hecha la lazada ya no se sale, pero deberian ser de metal y mas profunda la zona donde engancha el cordon.

These are very nice shoes, warm and comfortable. They broke in quickly, a little stiff first couple of walks around the neighbourhood but great afterwards. Used them for a couple of weeks now, walking in the park and hikes in the forest over snow and ice and they have good grip and are very warm.Got them slightly larger than my sneakers (9 vs 8.5 / 43 vs 42) - had another pair of Merrell boots same size

J en suis a ma 2e paire de thermo glacier. Elle sont chaudes confortables et leur poids est correct. Les meilleures bottes d hiver pour moi jusqu a présent. Je porte du 11.5 et le 11.5 est parfait.

the boot ripped at the seem where you lace up at the top within the week, bought a much more affordable pair from a different seller that's still going strong
