Simply Great
My wife runs through distance and reading glasses at an alarming rate so I decided to buy these for her. Not only are they sturdy and smart looking, they do the job well and I'm no longer terrified if she destroys a couple of them :)).Definitely recommended.

These glasses are pretty great.
Before I write a review for anything I have ordered off of Amazon, I first try to find all the flaws mentioned about that particular item in prior reviews, so I can be aware of those flaws. After these readers arrived, I tried to find everything I also didn't like about them, but couldn’t find anything major. There are a couple of minor aspects of these glasses I did notice that could become problematic over time, and I'll mention those. But overall, I am very pleased with them. These glasses, first off, are very well constructed. I am super hard on everything, and have broken many pairs of reading glasses just through everyday use. Other reviewers have described the lenses dropping out of these glasses, or having the lenses crack on them. I just got them today, and there is no evidence of any cracked lenses (they might crack in the future, I don't know.) I pushed hard on all of the lenses with my thumb, and they didn’t wiggle or shift, or otherwise give any indication they might fall out. Again, that could happen in the future, but right now, the glasses seem very solid. (I’ve actually had these for about a month now, and none of them are showing any signs of having cracked or loose lenses.)I was frankly surprised at the overall sturdiness of these glasses, given that they are inexpensive readers whose style is based on, I guess, a type of glasses that Oprah wears. So these readers were probably designed and manufactured in a hurry, to cash in on the popularity of the style she has been wearing. Even so, these are still really decent reading glasses. There *are* a couple of minor issues that I have noticed. One is that on one pair, where the glass of the lenses meets the inner top plastic of the rims, the glass lens at the top sticks out by about 1/16th. This irregularity does suggest this particular lens was glued into the frames incorrectly and/or clumsily. Again the lens itself is not loose, and this slight protruding of the glass is not irritating or even really noticeable, and does not interfere with the glasses being functional. I also found this flaw on only one pair (out of six.)What I was most concerned about was the quality of the lenses themselves. The lenses are the most important aspect of a pair of reading glasses; if the lenses are flawed, that pair of glasses is pretty much useless. I ended up ordering two sets of these reading glasses. I first ordered the 3.50 strength. While the 3.50 magnification is fine for close-up work, they are too strong for me to use while working at my desk on my laptop. The images on the monitor were distorted unless I leaned in very close to it, which was uncomfortable. I wasn't sure if the lenses themselves were flawed, or if I had just ordered too-strong magnification. It was the latter. The ones I am wearing right now are 3.00 strength, from my second order. As soon as I put on the 3.00s and looked at my monitor, I thought- ahhh. Just right. No distortion; nice large "expanse" of glass for me to see through (I had been using a pair of those half-moon type of reading glasses, and the lenses were far too small for my comfort.) This strength is perfect for working at my laptop. One thing- these glasses are NOT “blue light blocking.” I do have a pair of actual blue light blocking readers. When I look through the real blue light blockers, everything has a distinct warm amber tinge to it. The light from my monitor appears on the yellow side. When I switch to a pair of non blue blocking readers (i.e., like these glasses), the warm tone disappears. There is no warm tone to these lenses. They aren’t “blue light blocking.” My monitor, while wearing these, has a distinct blue tinge to it. That being said, I've been staring at my computer and typing for a few hours now, and I haven’t experienced any eye fatigue, even though these are not blocking any blue light.Another thing- I noticed these glasses fit really snugly on my head. I could feel the bars that go along the sides of my face and loop over my ears (I looked it up, and this part of a pair of glasses is called “the temples”) were exerting quite a bit of pressure against the sides of my head. I have always had trouble with glasses falling off of my face whenever I lean down, which is really irritating. A lot of readers have broken this way, because they just fall off of my head. These glasses, however, aren’t going anywhere! I was a bit concerned that their snugness might give me a headache, but after a few hours of continuous wear, I am headache-free. And there is always the option of bending the temples “out” on the glasses, so they aren’t as snug, if their fit gets too uncomfortable. (This is what I ended up doing- I just bent the two temples outward, one at a time, while making sure I wasn't forcing them in any way that might make them snap. The temples are made of very strong plastic, so that worry was not an issue. I then held each of the temples pushed outward for awhile, while steadily applying the pressure to bend them. I held the temples like this for about thirty seconds. This worked very well. After that, the glasses no longer felt too snug on my head. Yet they are snug enough, that if I move my head downward or in any direction quickly for any reason, they stay on.)Personally, after searching for whatever drawbacks these reading glasses might have, I can’t find anything that would inspire me to recommend they be avoided. On the contrary- I am happy with them, and do recommend them. I think that, for the money, you are getting very solid, functional, snug-to-the-head reading glasses. They are well-constructed enough that if the cats knock them off of the desk, or if they fall out of my pocket, they won’t self-destruct. They are also retro-looking, which I like, although their design esthetics are not as important as their functionality. I think they score highly on both of these aspects, and I recommend them.

Best Readers — Have Ordered Three Times
I searched Amazon for readers that are stylish, sturdy, and comfortable. These are all that. Not one pair has broken; I have to re-order because I lose them. I still one pair from my first order (found it after I ordered third set) that has gotten a little loose, but is otherwise still great. I also like the selection of blue, black, and tortoiseshell frames. And they don’t cost much, altogether a great product.
