NOT YET USED BUT EXACTLY AS THE PICTURE.

Working nicely, no grainy bits left after grinding with water. Perfect for my Sumi-E painting.

Had the item delivered yesterday opened it to find that it was broken beyond use.

Arrived quickly and as described. I have not tried to create any ink as yet. Stone is good and weighty and doubles as a brush holder and paper weight when not using for ink.

Didn't find anything I really liked among the ready-made four treasure boxes and didn't want plastic, so was looking for an unfussy but solid inkstone for a reasonable price and found this one which came with a black inkstick. Very nice; the inkstone feels like slate (don't think it is though as it's deep black); the inkstick is fine-grained and easy to grind into a very fine powder that mixes well with water.
