Patrice O'Neal is one of the funniest, most respected comedians working today. You know him from his recurring roles on The Office and Arrested Development, as host of VH1's Web Junk 20, as a featured guest on Tough Crowd With Colin Quinn. He also has a hugely-followed podcast and sells out shows across the country. Elephant In The Room, filmed at the New York Comedy Festival, is his first full-length special and is being release extended and uncensored with 40 minutes of content not seen on TV. The special will air on Comedy Central and a CD of the same name will be released in conjunction.

Great special by an underrated GIANT
Special was hilarious and it included deleted scenes as well as another 20 minutes he did on Comedy Central. This guys comedy is described as confrontational and you see why when he begins to do crowd work. His style of comedy can seem like he's picking on people in the crowd, but its a way of transitioning between thoughts/ideas and it's hilarious as he ad libs. He likes to make people uncomfortable and even expressed that he felt half the room should love him and half the room should hate him. His jokes can be dark and crude, but mostly they're point of views about relationships, stereotypes, and advice about women. If you're sensitive and get offended easily, this is not the guy for you.

RIP Patrice O'neal/Black Phillip
I've seen this special about 20 times before I finally decided to buy the DVD and it is still my ALL TIME favorite comedy special I've ever seen. I still get tears in my eyes laughing at certain parts it's that hilarious. There could never and will never be another Patrice O'neal... man I miss that dude.Only negative about this DVD is the quality isn't the best (seriously what the hell CC??) but the extra content more than makes up for it imo. I just would've loved a more crisp/clear image.

Truly funny man, GREAT DVD!
I'm a huge fan of comedy and consider myself to have an above average knowledge of the medium in general. I always knew who Partrice was because of O&A, when he and Bill Burr sat in, the broadcasts were hysterical. I had never really seen much of his standup, but caught a tiny part of the edited version of this special on Comedy Central late one night and went looking for it immediately. I had obviously been missing out, this special is so funny it had me in tears in several parts. Patrice (as do most comedians) had a unique way of looking at things and sharing ideas with a common denominator. Sadly there isn't that much material from Patrice, he passed way to soon, i'm sure he had a lot more to offer up to everyone. So get to it, it's well worth the price, will make you laugh all night long.

One of the all-time master comedians
Patrice was always great at walking into a room and sizing people up quickly, not to mention zeroing in on insecurities and calling attention to something everyone's avoiding addressing. The title to the special is perfect for him, because he always addressed the elephant in the room that no one would want to acknowledge, he would break the ice. He was a genius analyst with a quick wit, an insightful and captivating viewpoint, and a tremendous way with words. Great punchlines, great observations, great crowd work, great confidence and stage presence. One of the all-around funniest people ever, on and off the stage. RIP Patrice O'Neal. Excellent special to go out on, along with his album Mr. P. Get them both if you love laughing, sales help his family out a little, too. 👍

ONeal is the best!
If your wearing your big boy pants and can face the fact that the U.S. has serious racial, class, and gender problems, then this DVD is well worth the money. The extra scenes from another set are great. He was one of the greats. When I am feeling down this is the best boost.

At His BEST!!
I love Patrice for his brand of comedy. He loves women, that is evident as soon as he walks out on stage. His eye's are suddenly fixed on a young lady's bossom, his reaction was just the begining to his view on sex and women, HILARIOUS. He is an animal lover. I had never heard him sing before! And lastly, he is a self proclaimed racist and proud of it. He expresses his views in a way that is funny, honest and craving for more. The extras that are not shown on TV, comedy central ect. Are worth the purchase. He may piss you off (you'll see) but, he will bring you back around to laughing, that's what made him ORIGINAL.

Hilarious observations of Men's & Women's relationships & grizzly bears & fish!
Patrice O'neal was earmarked for greatness. It is a shame he left this world too soon due to a long time struggle with diabetes. We should be thankful he left us with at least one performance that I have watched several times since purchase and still laugh as hard as I did when first viewed. This somewhat clean special(Incontrast to some of his raunchier half hour shows)discusses why women are impossible to get along with, why men & women should not work in an office together & the type of creatures men are & why we do what we do. I am a true fan of Patrice's & I hope once you see that you will be too.

Absolutely Hilarious
Elephant in the Room is one of the funniest stand up comedy DVDs I have ever seen in my life. Patrice O'Neal himself says he is most proud of this DVD because it is the most real of his work available. There are also lots of extras added onto this. I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of real comedy.
