I have not seen the product for quite some time, and have not used it ye, but by all appearances it is the same product. We will see.

Q: Do you really need the conditioner too in order to get max thickening and volume?

Yes, you would need a special Thicker Fuller serum to apply on your wet hair . Also you might need the Thicker Fuller hair spray. However, you can buy this shampoo and serum at Walgreens ($4.99 plus tax). You CANNOT but the Thicker Fuller hair spray at Walgreens. Best of luck!

I believe some Walgreens still carry it. It was always hard to find; so I just order it from Amazon
