This is the second Gerber I have owned. Back a few years ago I owned a diesel version of this multi tool.Positives: Pliers deployed quickly and feel good and strong, grabbed a hold of a few bolt heads at work and with enough pressure they come right out. Even under my max squeeze the pliers did not bow of give. Flat head selection is nice but not the standard look and design one might expect from the Leatherman competitors. I like the serrated blade but as with all the Gerber muiltitools the blade metal feels like it would be difficult to sharpen. Seem to last a long time and take what you throw at them.Negatives: Pliers are lose when in the retract position, sliding action takes some whipping action plus force to get them to slide down the rails, file is wood and metal I would prefer wood and diamond, lanyard loop is not needed I'd prefer a pair of scissors, Flat heads are a little short, can opener is always a welcomed tool in a multitool, main blade design is lacking, metal feels weak and it hard to sharpen.If I wanted an updated version of this too I would purchase Leatherman OHT. It is much smother but it a little bigger. Plus spring action pliers.I will put this tool through the paces and see how it does.

I purchased this model for my husband. He LOVED it. He often uses the pliers, knife, and mini saw just in our day to day around the farm and at work. He's dropped it in sand, used it to help process a chicken (so think blood covered and sticky) and soaked it in water to clean it off. Still in like-new shape with zero signs of wear and no issues with sticking or grittiness. Highly recommend Gerber products.

It was delivered today and the tool was exactly as it was pictured and described; however, the belt loop on the sheath is too narrow. If you plan on wearing it with a narrow belt and dress slacks its perfect, but if your like me and need it when your wearing 5.11's with a wide belt its a no go. I'm sending it back tomorrow.
