Good idea, but baby didn't like it
I got a free sample from Amara in exchange for reviewing. I really like the idea of this product, it is nice to have something in the pantry/diaper bag that is shelf stable and light and I appreciate the quality level. It definitely will make me feel better to carry a packet in the diaper bag in case we get stuck somewhere without appropriate baby food.Unfortunately my baby is now almost 11 months and not really interested in thin purees anymore. I tried making it a little less thick so he could hand scoop, but i don't think he really liked the flavor. Maybe it didn't help that I let him go to town on his uncle's split pea soup for dinner the other night, which decidedly did not taste like baby food.I will try to come with a recipe to use up the remaining packets, I'll update if I come up with anything good.

Gritty
I ordered two different flavors. One pack was open and had no shrink wrap on it. The other was fine. I only tested the pea one since the other one was open. It tasted gritty. Also seems to have a lot of sodium. I’ll be throwing these out and searching for something else.

Taste homemade
If you’re always on the go like me, Amara is the baby food for you! It’s super convenient, easy to store and prepare. All you have to do is add breast milk, formula or water and you’re done! I love that its dehydrated and made into a powder form so It keeps the freshness, color, texture and all it’s nutrients. I also love hat it’s USDA organic, gluten free, with no additives or preservatives. It’s a great addition to homemade meals and you’ll always know your little one is getting all of their nutrients no matter where you’re at! My daughter loved it, I also tried it and it taste just like the stuff I make.

Nutritious and easy
My 6 month old loves this food. It’s so easy for on the go I don’t have to worry about having prepared food fresh or frozen. All I need is water or I can pump on the go and mix with breast milk. This also makes eating out so much easier.

Looks and smells unpleasant
We added water to the powder, and it turned into a disgusting looking (and smelling) mush that no kid in his right mind will want to eat.
