Just what I need for my Van Conversion
The unit is 12V and has a heating feature which is perfect for my Van Conversion. The 12V operation will be more efficient without the need for an inverter and can run directly from my solar panels and batteries. I look forward to installing it on my van and testing it out. I'll follow up with an update of my review after trying it out.

What you need to know about this for solar on your camper or rv
So as many of you have, I have been searching high and low for the “solar solution” to ac. It’s not easy. Lots of YouTube lots of measuring and thinking about drilling holes into my 17 foot camper and hating the thought of that. But understanding a holy grail exists in the form of 12v electric car like ac systems . But most are a split unit type setup. Again, drilling holes etc … until I found this guy. A proper roof mount standard install 12v ac system. It actually drops in a roof hole left from a 1800w 110v ac system. And it’s fully self contained. Let’s list the pros and the cons:Pros:1 Drops in a normal roof ac hole in an rv 14x142 Is not loud3 Has eco mode for 230-300 watt draw you can leave on all night and still stay cool and most importantly in the south DRY not humid.4 max amp draw around 48amps 12v5 16-20amp on eco 12v6 4 200ah batteries will run it for 2-3 DAYS in eco with zero sunlight recharge7 15 hours on turbo runtime at 800ah pack8 has a remote9 takes 20 min to install without doing the wiring10 seems decently built11 no drilling no holes to be cutCons:1 airflow is not real high , I’d say half of the big brute roof ac systems they come on an rv.2 smells like toxic China plastic , hope that goes away w time and run cycles .3 it’s not 15,000btu, but that’s the point, efficient ac on solar. It is cooling 150sq feet ok, and I close the bathroom off to reduce load .4 China directions not easy and they have to be asked for from the company via chat.5 it comes empty of Freon, so get ready to rent a vacuum pump from autozone (for free) and buy 500g of Freon and suck it down and fill it (YouTube videos for how, it’s a car ac system)6 it needs ac line insulation ok the cold line that runs from compressor to the coils (home depo has it)7 watch the settings If you mess them up and don’t have manual you could get stuck with a non working unit. Seller will send pdf manual on request that’s somewhat ok broken English .Overall IF it keeps working ….. this may be the best unit going for the quest to run ac on solar that’s not easy to achieve. Pretty stoked on this thing if it doesn’t die in a few weeks or months… that being said I’ve seen naked kits with the electronics and compressor and lines for like 300-400$ on Amazon…. Worst case buy one for parts and swap things out if they fail.Overall the experiment continues in the quest for ac in solar…… this may just be the ticket.

This conditioner is the best value for money!
Many thanks to the seller, the air conditioner was delivered very quickly! The package arrived intact, no damage. The air conditioner is very easy to install and it only needed to be charged with refrigerant, which was also successfully done. The seller was always in touch and answered all questions very quickly. This is a very good air conditioner, and the best solution for my van! I am delighted with this purchase!!!

Used unit
When I received the unit the box looked great. Packing was good. It looked like factory sealed. We installed it into the van, connected the power. It turned on like it should. The temperature outside was 63°f so I never thought to turn it to A/C. But I did turn on the heat strip. It works great I thought! We left for our vacation to Mexico. 35 days later and 1000 miles south of the USA boarder at 90°f we turned on the A/C.After taking off the cover, the pictures tell the story. There was no coolant in the system at all. The bolts were loose on the pump and different types of bolts holding the fan on 2 of them were stripped. Scratches and bruises on the components. The guts of this unit are not new. There is no way for us to return this unit as we are miles away from home.I stopped at a car dealership and had them add R-134a. It came on and worked for about an hour. The system has a leak in it. So it’s no good at all.I called support and they are telling me that I’m 4 days passed my return date. I’m hoping I can get something resolved.Update: they contacted us and are now shipping us a new replacement unit.

Not a heat pump
Its not a heat pump. It has a heat element. It uses about 50amps. Easy to install. Needs better installation instructions .
