Special Lite Products SCS-1014-BLK Savannah Curbside Mailbox, Black

I purchased this product 7 1/2 years ago and it has held up well through New England winters, road salt, etc. and still looks great. Recently the friction ball that holds the door closed fell off so the door wasn't staying shut. I reached out to the manufacturer to buy a replacement and they sent me a full set of latch hardware within two days AT NO COST, no questions asked. How refreshing to see a company stand behind their product even after so much time had passed. Well done

Mailbox looks great paired with a new post and post cover. About 5 years later and still looks like new. Heavy duty box with expensive looks.

I wanted a kind of Norman Rockwell painting look for the mailbox, and this was close to perfect (except the bright red flag doesn't quite fit with the weathered copper). I was surprised by the size of the mailbox; it could easily fit a large cat inside. My only complaint is that the door is very tight and hard to open. The finish is beautiful, though, and it is very sturdy. I used concrete screws to mount it directly into a stone monolith, and the material is strong enough to hold it in place. It comes with a wooden board for mounting, but I preferred the look without the wooden board.

We got this mailbox to replace the Special Lite Town Square mailbox that was destroyed by a car running down the cluster of mailboxes at the end of our road. We ordered the Savannah this time because it was a little bigger and we thought it would be better for journals and packages. It just arrived and I have to say, the quality is not nearly as good as the Town Square. First of all, it is not cast aluminum like the Town Square was. The door is cast aluminum. The box itself is typical bent sheeting of, I'm hoping, aluminum (and not steel that will rust). It is fairly thick, not thin and easily bendable like cheaper boxes. But, it arrived with a couple of small indentations in the top. There are kids (I assume) that drive by periodically and take baseball bats to our boxes... the Town Square was impervious... we'll see how this one holds up. The other thing about this one is the door hinge is very loose and the door has a lot of play in it... it feels cheap. The Town Square door had no play and had a magnetic closure that was very tight. This one has a pressure closure that looks like may be trouble if it doesn't align just right. I'm putting this one up, even though I'm skeptical about it's quality, because we've been without a mailbox for 3 weeks, we live in the country, and it's real hassle to go into town and stand in a long line to get our mail. I'll update this review sometime in the future with how this mailbox holds up.

Love the built in magnetized lid that is easy to open and close. Looks great also.

I love the look of this mailbox. It's different from any I've seen and keeps with the design of my house. It feels very sturdy and is quite heavy. The packaging allowed it to come without damage. This is the second of these mailboxes I have purchased. It seems my mailbox has a bullseye on it.I wanted a different style and I got it.

This is a beautiful, high quality mailbox. It is about 50% bigger in every direction of a standard mailbox. My mailman loves it because small/medium sized packages and lots of mail fits easily inside (and we mounted it higher fir him, too). We love it
