Obviously they're not going to provide high level security, but if you have a jewelry box or trinket box and you simply want to keep the contents private from children or roommates, these will do. They're also quite pretty, and definitely add an attractive, vintage look to whatever you add them to.

These are great for a project I have in mind

We purchased the locks for a small cabinet in our downstairs living room. We were looking for something that looks vintage and would be secure enough to just keep the curious little kids or guests away. We now have the perfect place to store our private boudoir photo album.The lock is solid enough and works well. It's clearly not made for real security, but we were not looking for that as much as the vintage charm it provides.

I ordered these as part of a treasure hunt I made for a nephew. The theme I was going for was a mix of antique and pirates, minus the skulls and gold. I'm a nerd.They certainly had a cool antique look to them, as advertised. I also purchased small boxes to go with these locks. The locks and keys worked with no problems. I understand they were advertised to be small in size, but wasn't aware they'd be as small as they were. Miscalculation on my part more than anything. In the end, they worked great and my nephew was able to navigate through them flawlessly. I saved them for the possibility of a future treasure hunt.
