PILOTKnock Gel Ink Extra Fine Ballpoint Pen, Juice Up 04, White (LJP-20S4-W)

The writing performance of this instrument is flawed due to inconsistent gel flow and a scratchy stroke.Could be a lemon; this pen did not perform well at all.There appears to be a burr on the writing head which may be causing the scratching sensation.Due to poor eyesight, I thought the bur might have been a plastic cap meant to prevent leaks or drying, but after attempting to remove the "cap" with needle-nosed tweezers, the entire head came out, spilling dried crumbs of gel ink.I am writing the review the week after I received this pen, so I don't recall the state of the packaging, but as you can see on the pen in the photo, there's already dirt smudges on the grip. While I work in an office, I tend to keep my hands clean, so this makes me suspect I received a used/defective pen.
