The product looks well made, but is too small for my larger head. I could not get the velco to close. Even if I came up with an extension, it looked too small in general. It was only 10.5" across when laid flat.This would be a nice tam if you have a small head.I've been through every product description for an 8-sided tam, and it looks like 90% of them are sourced from the same company.

This is a sharp-looking tam. The description reads to 23" and I'm 23.5, but I took a chance because I'm willing to make adjustments if necessary and I wanted a black band (rather than greys I see). This just fits me, comfortably, using the very edges of the velco strap, which is in the back (I think velcro location is an issue with some other caps). The velvet is deep black and not thin, so looks and feels like quality. The medium gold tassel is secured to the left (which is fine by me). Happy with this purchase--

This is a nice tam. It looks good and keeps its structure, unlike the one included with the doctoral robe I ordered (from a different company) which looked cheap and floppy. It is small however; measure your head, because it says one size fits all 19-23 inches, but 23 inches isn't very big.

I was looking for a more sophicated looking master’s tam for commencement ceremonies at my institution. This fit the bill.
