Good quality product and reasonably priced brought and used for dryer vent replacement

The unit is designed to avoid external winds from blowing back when the fan is not turning.Unfortunately the wind does get in to the port and the flap does not weigh enough to keep in place.I added a couple of washers to help hold it in place.The unit itself is a rather thin construction and the flap could do with being heavier.

This is an excellent product for the price. Does the job well. Easy to fit......AND the back flap doesn't make a noise in the wind, and we do have big wind in the Cairngorms.

Bought to stop drafts coming down extractor fan into kitchen, as previously had louvre design which was like an open hole in the wall.This duct cover does well at stopping that draft BUT if there is a relatively strong wind the flap does bang constantly.The 6” flap is different to that shown, and is hinged centrally rather than at the top. This creates a ‘rocker’ motion meaning the wind can push open at the top which then bangs when it returns to its resting position. This house have been stated / shown on the listing.

It's a good item overall, but doesn't really deal with the issue of wind. Bangs really loudly when windy, which wasn't the result I was hoping for.

Flap inside is a bit flimsy / takes some time to keep on its mounts when finally fitting but good cowl nonetheless
