Strong Blender
This is the best blender, I have used in a long time. It makes light work of frozen fruits. I have made smoothies thrice and usually from frozen fruits and it’s always well blended and I can make enough for the entire family unlike my previous blender. It’s a dream to clean too. I will update once I have used for longer and tried more recipes in this.

Not powerful
I have an Asda 40.00 bullet 1000w bullet type blender. Use every day. Getting tired. So treated ourselves to this blender based on the warranty and got extra cover. Made the regular smoothie the following morning. Dreadful. The motor is not powerful at all. The protein powder and oats were still not blended after three attempts on highest speed. Husband said it was the worse smoothie I had given him. Item ready for return. Our Asda one takes about 30- 40 seconds to blend, oats, milk, frozen banana to silky smooth. Very disappointing to say the least.

Could be perfect for commercial use, probably less so in the home
There’s nothing stand-out about this blender (in its price bracket) but it’s certainly a good one. They rattle on about capacity, 6 blades, “self-cleaning”, BPA-free, variable speed and pulse – all features commonly found on £100+ blenders. It’s certainly heavy and, to me, not a looker, so would perhaps fit better in a commercial than domestic environment. But of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There’s no arguing with the fact that it’s quite heavy, though, which is probably down to the 2200W motor (but keep in mind 2200W is a measure of the power it uses and may have little to do with the output to the blades). The motor does give you confidence that it has plenty of grunt when you start it, though, like firing up a powerful car.The jug is BPA-free, as you’d expect. Whether plastic or glass is preferable…well, that’s down to personal choice. Glass is heavy and fragile but wears so much better than plastic. Tricky choice. It perhaps depends on the blender’s primary use, with plastic fine for soft things like soups and sauces, glass preferable for ice and other hard contents.I’m unhappy that the seller couldn’t be bothered ‘translating’ from US to UK English. Presumably, when they say 70 oz, they’re talking US fluid ounces (different from UK fluid ounces). In any case, they should be talking millilitres for UK, not ounces. The lid has 1-ounce and 2-ounce lines – again presumably US fluid ounces and of little value here. There are other Americanisms too, like ‘dish soap’, and spelling errors.I wish the on/off switch were combined with a constantly variable speed control, as with most other blenders I’ve used. It could do with a couple of programmes too, e.g. ice crushing and smoothie – I can live without those but they’re generally present on blenders at this price. This isn’t my favourite blender and certainly won’t replace the Sage in my kitchen, even though the Sage is more expensive, less powerful if you go purely by the numbers, and lower capacity. I can see it being a winner in commercial premises, though, where capacity and a gutsy motor may be key. Three stars, then, for home use, but perhaps five for businesses.

Smooth and powerful blending
I like the way it blends smoothly without much effort. At the speed of 2 many things are already blended nicely to a smooth paste.

Not so good as the Nutribullet
Big massive however takes for ever to blend some frozen fruit

A large industrial-looking blender that should meet all your needs – and more
This A8700 blender by BioloMix is certainly a heavy-duty piece of kit that could give many years of service – the powerful (2200W peak but rated 1500W) motor comes with a confident seven year manufacturer's warranty. This is a large blender that would seem robust enough for commercial use but may be a bit too big for the average kitchen. If you use this type of product regularly then you might find the power and simple controls attractive, and the 2 litre BPA-free plastic jug should be well big enough for all your blending requirements. We hadn't heard of the BioloMix brand previously, and can't find many different products readily available, other than via their website – where they do get a recommendation from Gordon Ramsey! At around one hundred and thirty-five pounds currently from Amazon this rather industrial-looking BioloMix heavy duty professional blender may be more than the average home user needs, but could suit some of the more adventurous cooks out there, or even caterers – five stars at the price, but for the right user.
