Finally, the right insert for my problem feet. Relief and comfort . Great insert!
I bought these to help with my Morton's Neuroma and overpronation. The metatarsal pad is in the right place, below the neuroma. I'm not sure if the arch support is enough, but that's because it is so comfortable! It is designed by Superfeet and made of a sturdy, semi-rigid plastic. And I can always add an arch booster to the insole if needed. But the main thing is I have finally found an arch support/metatarsal insole that does not hurt and conforms well to my foot. Every one of the MANY inserts I have tried (Powersteps, Spenco, Superfeet Green/Blue, Foot Chair and others) have always been painful in some area, especially under my foot and on the lateral part where the edge pushed into my Peroneal Tendon. I bought a very expensive motion control shoe recommended by my podiatrist for my many problems: overpronation, flat feet (collapsed arches), Morton's Neuroma, achilles Tendonitis, plantar fasciitis and ankle pain. I tried every insert in my collection and got no relief until THIS one. This has the best, deepest heel cup I've ever seen in an insert. It really holds my ankle in place and is keeping my foot from turning inward. The padding is very comfortable and I feel no pressure points or pain. Finally I'm able to wear these expensive shoes comfortably. I hope New Balance never stops making this.

Some of the best you can find
Comfortable, well-designed, great for boots. I did need to get a half-size larger boot to accommodate these, which is normal – they’re not oversized but substantial. Highly recommended!

Sizing is great!
I bought the extra small women/youth size, and it fits my shoes perfectly, being a small adult with small feet. Yes, the weird semi-circle to support the metatarsals feels weird, at first, but it does help even the load and lessens the pain of neuromas. I can wear them all day, with great comfort! I can see a second set, in my future . . .

Best product of it's type I have found.
These are great if you need Arch and Metatarsal support but you should get advice from a professional, either Podiatrist or Orthopedist before using any inserts.

So close!
I was happy to run across these as SuperFeet (SF) doesn't formally make any of their insoles with a met pad. That said, having read some of the reviews of the product here and at the New Balance (NB) site, I would agree that the arch support and met pad are not quite up to snuff in comparison to NB's old met pad insoles. These SF insoles are probably a better choice for fitting in a wider variety of shoes as the NB ones are thicker, but the arch support in these SF/NB insoles is minimal. The only insole comparable to this amongst SF's own products shows that these are supposed to be intended for "all arch heights" which I translate to meaning that there isn't much there for those with medium or high arches, which was the case when I tried them on.Beyond that, I'm not sure that NB and SF really thought through who this insole is supposed to be targeted at. For example, chance are that if you need a met pad, you're more likely to have other issues going on with your feet, which brings me to the heel cup on these. I'm a big fan of SF's Run Support and Hike Support insoles, which use a heel cup that has a flatter bottom underneath, offering greater motion control and stability (bothy laterally and medially). These NB insoles have a rounded bottom, however, which is likely to allow for more movement. Again, if you need a met pad, you likely have other issues going on with your feet and having more lateral our medial movement in the heel is unlikely to be helpful for you. The old NB met pad insoles had a similar flat bottom to the heel so it's more than a bit confusing as to why NB/SF would opt for its replacement to not offer a similar design. If NB could coordinate with SF to bring a met pad to a style built like their Running Cushion insoles (which appear to be identical to SF's Run Support insoles), it would address the two major issues I see with these insoles, the lack of support for medium to high arches, and a more stable design in the heel. In essence, putting a met pad into the Running Cushion insoles would give fans of NB's prior met pad insoles most of what they're looking for.One other quibble I would offer is that the old NB met pad insoles also offers more support throughout the arch. One of my main gripes with SF's Run Support and Hike Support insoles is that even with supposedly being made for high arches (or med/high for the Hike), you really don't feel it, particularly in comparison to other brands. For example, I have a number of Your Sole insoles and the arch support is much more pronounced and the support can be felt through the arch. SF's arch support tends to be further back in the arch in some of their styles. In fact, I steered away from SF's classic green insoles for high arches because it felt like the arch was coming in more toward my heel rather than under my arches. That said, the design for the NB Running Cushion insoles resolves that issue (as do these casual met pad insoles). I don't feel like I've got a rock under the inside of my heel, but the arch support in the Running Cushion insole is also understated, meaning it'd be nice if it were more pronounced and more supportive. It is only marginally more supportive in the arch than SF's Hike Support med/high arch. When I swap into my custom orthotics I had made, I'm reminded, "Oh, right! That's what true arch support feels like!" The Your Sole product and old NB met pad insole comes closer to that feel and I wish NB/SF could do likewise with the new met pad insole. What do I like? The cushioning in these is great. It feels comparable to my SF Run Support and Hike Support insoles. Despite my issues with the rounded heel cup, it appears to offer a comparable fit to the design used in the Running Cushion style that has a flatter surface on the bottom. One thing I have really appreciated about the SF Run/Hike Support insoles is that they allow for a solid heel lock across a variety of footwear. A common pitfall with insoles is that they can move your foot up and forward in your shoes, sometimes ruining the fit in the forefoot as well as the heel where you can often run into heel slippage because the insole raises the heel too much (I found the classic green SuperFeet, high arch insoles to be guilty of this very issue). This hasn't been the case for me with my SF/NB insoles and I have often opted for the SF insoles in lieu of the Your Sole ones as a trade off. e.g., I do get arch support, albeit less so than with the other brand, but the overall fit tends to be better across a variety of shoes in comparison.New Balance's choice to go with SupeFeet's casual design is... interesting, particularly since their old met pad insoles were so robust in terms of both arch and met pad support. I truly hope that NB can come out with a met pad insole that brings the older features of their met pad insole to the SF designs. As noted, a met pad being included in a style like NB's Running Cushion insole would likely do the trick. The greater lateral and medial support in the heel, the higher arch, and inclusion of the met pad would likely make a lot of people happy who were accustomed to NB's old design which was fantastic for running, walking, hiking, or being on your feet all day for work. The only lingering issue I can see is that SF's designs might be a little less robust in terms of arch support than what NB offered in the old design which NB customers were used to. SuperFeet has its designs and it is highly successful with what they offer, and yet they have a chance to respond to NB and its customers who might have enough leverage to prompt these kinds of improvements. In short, this product is *not* a true successor to NB's old met pad insoles, and I hope that NB and SF have something more robust in the works.***I'll try and get some pics put together of the three different styles to better illustrate some of my points.

Painful!
I bought these because I have neuropathy. Instead of a nice slope for arch support, there is a big lump there. This hard lump is like having a large stone in your shoe(at least if you have neuropathy). Very painful!!

Inserts that fit like a glove!
Whether it’s casual shoes or walking shoes, these inserts fit perfectly for me. The rigid plastic under the padded heel, prevent my foot from flexing and putting pressure on the ball of my foot and causing pain. Just what the doctor ordered!
