What a great book ... I m so glad I happen to stumble across this author... I can assure you no one will get board reading this book. Just amazing can't wait for the 2nd book

Hooked from start to finish. Love all the twists and turns that transpired throughout the book. Would definitely recommend and will also be re reading again in the future.

And I underestimated her, and her devious ways, more than Warner Huntington III did Elle Woods."'Alex' had me hooked from that very first 'Legally Blonde' reference, and it never let me go.The cover says "all is not as it seems" and that is not an understatement, there is a lot going on in this elite society which reads like a British 'Gossip Girl' (but better?) and I absolutely loved it. There's even a Blair Waldorf reference in there if you're paying attention.The relationship between 'Beth' and Alex is steamy and the anticipation intoxicating. There are so many ups and downs and hand-to-mouth moments it's unputdownable. Just when you think you've figured it all out, there's more to come.I would recommend this book to every 'young adult' romance reader. If you like your books with love, lust, deception, scandal and a good helping of steam, this one's for you. Just don't buddy read it with your mum, whatever you do. The betrayal and heartache I felt when the plot twist came to light is beyond unacceptable and it’s something I still cannot forgive Jessica for it! But that’s how you KNOW it’s a good book, and I am incredibly excited for the next book to be released this year!Alex is your typical playboy with a heart of gold and you fall for his charisma instantly, you fall in love with him over and over again, and the tension you feel while reading as Beth is enough to drive you crazy. His family welcome you with open arms and so does his bestfriend Wade. Alex is just a beautiful human in and out, and despite the mistakes he makes, he will always make you feel like the only girl in the world.As for “Beth”, no I won’t spoil her real name, she is a force to be reckoned with and plays the real Bethany Dalton to a scandalous T! She is a powerful woman with the world at her feet, yet she’s never been able to achieve what she wants due to her terrible mother who is a vile woman in my opinion. The betrayal this woman goes through is heartbreaking and as the plot unveils, I just want to hug her and never let go. She’s an absolute treasure.You will not regret this story!

I’ve been dying to read Alex since I read the blurb and it exceeds all my expectations. The plot, characters and writing are all on point.Bethany’s parents requested her to attend a summer retreat for six weeks in London. The goal was to socialise with the city's elite society and repair their family’s tarnished reputation caused by her sister. Not wanting to oblige, Bethany hired her best friend to fill in and pretend to be her. She simply had to follow the instructions and she’ll be paid in return.I was captivated from the first page. The level of details put into describing the luxurious couture, the extravagant parties and the over-the-top leisure activities is just incredible. What made it even more intriguing was, just like 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩, that world was not what it seemed. Under all that glam, it’s full of deception and scandals.How can I not talk about the explosive chemistry between 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 and Alex? He was completely taken by her when they reunited at the retreat. 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 was told to stay away from him, but his persistent pursuit and enticing emerald eyes made it impossible for her to resist.Alex was known for his playboy ways and 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 tried really hard to not fall for it. But feelings grow as they spend more time together. My heart just melts when Alex recites what 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 likes. 𝐔𝐠𝐡 and that slow-burn makes me go insane, you can feel the desire, the passion and the love shared. It was so worth it when they finally gave in.The plot twist towards the end, I did not see that coming at all. I’m so happy that this is a series. I love the interactions among the supporting characters and I definitely want to read their stories. Bravo Jessica for nailing this first book, can’t wait for the next one!

The grass is definitely not greener on the other side. Welcome to the world of high society in London where the wealthy drink champagne as if it's bottled water and secret backstabbing is considered a sport.Jessica Lou does a WONDERFUL and AMAZING job of keeping the reader hooked with intrigue and mystery. While the romance aspect is a slow burn, the story itself is evenly paced with humor, cattiness, and vivid descriptions.I will say I am a little miffed that once tiny little mystery wasn't really solved but that's supposedly the focus of the second book. So yay!!!
