Used this for a pair of outside gates and fence. All I will say is that first coating of it if applied lightly doesn’t really do it must justice. In my op ion and choice I had to go over it to give it a better look. For the price for the amount of stain a brilliant bargain. The colour is more of a dark dulled black not a dense black as black could be one but you could achieve that look with a few more coats. It all depends on the wood you are using it on too. Our gates took it really well more of a flatter surface but fence which was slightly rougher texture it struggled at times. However pleased with the results and it does dry quickly too which is a bonus. Not a colour my husband would have chosen, when I first mentioned the co,our he was a bit hands in air. However seeing photos on web of fences and gates done in it and seeing the finished results he thinks it looks really good.

Despite what it says on the tin its not one coat, its more like 3 or 4 to get the finish any where near acceptable. Its very watery and drips a fair bit. The good news is you can easily paint it on with a regular brush or be forever chasing drips if you try to apply it with a block brush. Since I had to apply so many coats I run out of the stain before finishing the fence. On the up side it did dry very fast indeed and so many layers can be put on in the same day.

I have attached photos of my items when I received them. Both tins of paint were leaking in the boxes, both lids on the tins were damaged, and the lids were covered in tape. Poor quality for the money now I have lost most of my paint before I have even started to use it. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE. SHAMEFUL, CONSIDERING IT WAS FOR MY OAP NANNY FENCE. I will not order from these again!!!!

Buy this, it goes further than more expensive products and came through winter with no weather damage. After purchasing a few expensive products for different purposes last year, I found this and annoyed I bought the others. It is thinner, like a thinned down version of the others, it goes farther and sinks in with no shine finish. It's fence paint, so that's what I need. Even as a base, if you want to then finish with a shine coat or No Nonsense sealer, it saves money.I hope to find this in blue or other shades...if anybody has, please comment...

One coat!!?? It is only ‘one coat’ if you have already put at least two coats on before you buy it. Just order twice as much as you need put aside twice as long, or buy something that actually ‘Does what it says on the tin’
