Does what is says on the tin. Quickly.
Not a great deal to say on this one. The packaging is over the top. The device itself is nice and compact. It has a small hole if you were so inclined to attach it to your keys or if you're old enough. Like the Levis keyring you got with jeans. Who knew? The file transfer was quicker than expected. Next to no set-up. I found it value for money, but there are a lot to choose from.

just an everyday USB
normal USB works fine, reads around 160MB/s writes around 20-35MB/s sustained, burst speed is good, but what i have noticed and only noticed with this USB as it comes down to the last 1 GB it slows right down to single digit! in read or write formats!

TOP READ AND WRITE SPEEDS FOR USB 3.2 GEN 1 FLASH DRIVE
This little drive packs a punch! Top read and write speeds and all in a robust little package.I had tried other similar products, this was way better and value for money in every way.No trouble streaming your movies or music, this is fast and does not stutter when backing up your data!UpdateThree to four months later still performing as it should.Update 29/4/24I swear by this brand of flash drives. It is fast and reliable and speeds are constant, no dipping, no drop but is 256GB enough for my collection?

Slow to use and causes missing files
I was looking for a replacement for the Patriot Xporter USB 2.0, which worked well for more than 10 years. Unfortunately, this device was a huge letdown. Not only was it slower than its 10-year-old counterpart, but it often paused when transferring files and disconnected randomly during mid-transfer, even after formatting the device several times. After numerous corrupted files, I finally gave up on it and bought another device.Do not use this if you value your files.

Fast transfer times
This USB stick was fairly cheap but it is surprisingly quick at data transferring. It works really well

Read is much slower than my old USB2 Patriot stick.
What happened to Patriot Rage? I bought this stick because I have an old USB2 patriot Rage and believed this must be a step up in speed, particularly as it is now USB 3.The results I got were shocking, an initial burst of 90 mbps, which then collapsed to between 1.5 mbps and at the most 12, but staying much of the time around 5 mbps. But by old USB2 Rage stick whips up to 25mps and stays there, how is this possible? However, there is a small plus side, if you have time to spare possibly around 1.5 hours to upload 60gb, it does read quicker, around 90 mbps, consistantly. But there is more to this. I tested a 64 GB USB3 Sandisk that I have been using to store music to stream to a HIFI system, and that had the same appauling write speed as the Patriot. The lesson here is to expect rubbish write speeds on cheap new USB3 memory sticks, no matter what the make or bogus advert claims.I have marked this review 3 stars because the refund was handled very quickly and I am very satisfied with that result.
