The Symbolism of the Tarot [Color Illustrated Edition] Paperback – Illustrated, January 22, 2013

One reviewer had been upset there were no color plates in the book. I would have been upset too if I had not known that, so thank you Upset Reviewer! However the front and back covers are in color, but only for the major arcana. I liked Ouspensky's writing style and there were interesting little nuggets I'd not read anywhere else. But it wasn't the deep treasure trove of insight I had hoped for. Any long time student of Astrology would probably know most of this. Still it was interesting, and I won't be returning it.

To make the book look bigger it is reprinted three times and it seems like a printout of a regular printer. Not great!

I bought it for my daughter and she said it helped her out greatly to understand the background of the tarot

Not what I was looking for

Buyer, beware; this book is neither color, nor illustrated. There are no images in the text at all. Additionally, this is not a book... it is a pamphlet describing the tarot images of the major arcana in text. You would do much better to seek out Ouspensky's "A New Model of the Universe" of which this is merely an extract.

Dont buy, NO PICTURES of the cards or anything else. The text looks as if it was typed out with an old typewriter. I'm unable to add pictures and video at the moment (Amazons fault) but when I can I will.

Disappointed. It is not very satisfactory having to keep referring to the cover for illustration of the text. That is not what I was expecting when I read "coloured illustrations" .I also expected explanations of the particular symbols on each card. My mistake! It is still quite an interesting read, just not what I was hoping for.I found it easier to interleaf the pages with the cards from my standard Rider Waite deck than to keep turning to the tiny illustrations on the cover.

Reads well with other books. No big contradictions.
