Humanly Speaking: The Evil of Abortion, the Silence of the Church, and the Grace of God

This book is an honest look at the church and the abortion issue.
I happen to know the author of this book and we were both very active in teaching about the effects of abortion on women and also leading women to good care that didn't destroy their babies. Michael is an excellent speaker so not surprised about how well he writes! The author does a great job of telling how much the church LACKS in doing pro-life work. I am a pro-life Christian from a good church that does a FAIR job of educating.... I gave a copy to one of our pastors to read and I think it made an impression on him that we need to do more.

Great Book!
This is a great book. It addresses a fundamental problem with the church today. Mr. Spencer does an excellent job explaining why Abortion is not a side issue, but a gospel issue that every pastor should be talking about. It is a good reminder of our duty to engage with the culture. It is well worth your time to read it.

Best pro-life book I have read!!
This book is my favorite pro-life books that I have read. Mr. Spencer writes with a personal, down-to-earth style. He conveys intellectual ideas about human value and the church’s responsibility to preborn babies in language that anyone can understand. The thing I love most about this book is how honest he is about the Church when it comes to this issue. If you are anything like me, you may be frustrated with the lack of care the American church gives to our preborn neighbors. Mr. Spencer approaches that frustration with grace but does not sacrifice the truth. I highly recommend this book!

A well written essay covering a wide range of abortion related topics
Michael Spencer's book chronicles the topic of abortion from personal, historical, scriptural and scientific perspectives. He debunks common pro-abortion rhetoric and false narratives, challenges the church and pastors to get off the sidelines and into the game and stresses how to challenge abortion opponents with skill and grace. An excellent read!

Important voice for loving ALL who are affected by abortion
This is a well-written book and vital for every pro-life Christian, or any Christian who wonders “what’s the big deal?” about abortion.I’m a few chapters in and really thankful for Michael Spencer’s writing. He lays out clearly why Christians must be defenders of the vulnerable (including the unborn). He does so in a way that honors those who have been traumatized by abortion or struggle with guilt for their involvement in past abortions.Definitely worth your time.

Perfect combination of facts, admonition, and urgency to save the unborn!
Michael Spencer eloquently and succinctly highlights the humanity of the preborn and the depravity of the culture. Hopefully the church will respond with action to his compelling and winsome rallying of God's people on behalf of voiceless victims.

The hard facts written from the heart and mind of a pastor
Having heard Mike Spencer's public speaking on this topic, I'm not surprised that his writing reflects the same care in choosing words, making clear points, and exploring the underlying philosophical and moral deficiencies related to the systematic murder of the unborn. What I didn't expect was the overall excellence of the book, its range of topics, and the ease with which the author builds his arguments. It is a superb work on a very difficult matter and I have encouraged many friends to read it for themselves.
