How hard is it to make a screw, seriously? On first inspection these look fine but after trying 6 screwdrivers into at least a handful of different screws from the pack ( I only needed 3 for my project at hand) I could not get one to fit snugly into the "X" on the top of the screw, they all camed out as soon as any resistance was encountered, some slots were so shallow that the bits barely engaged with the slots. I drilled pilot holes, I only own quality tools and yet not one screw could be made work. Some of the milled 'Xs" are very shallow while others look like they might work but they don't. I would have just purchased these from the Hillman bin at my local hardware store but #4 screws are not a stocked item there nor at my big box stores. This is sad, we can't even make a quality screw anymore.

These are very soft stainless, have stripped dozens despite trying 3 different size phillips bits. If you predrill and drive slowly they will work, but if try to run in fast without predrilling- likely to strip fast, then very difficult to remove once stripped. Guess you get what you pay for.

Used these to install shelving in my home office. Manufacturer specs called for #7 screws, which I couldn’t find at Home Depot outside of 3-8 packs for $1.50-$2 each (absurd and overpriced). These stainless steel screws were well priced and didn’t strip badly during my install. Would gladly purchase from this company again.

As others have stated no Phillips screwdriver will fit these as screw head too shallow. They are NOT self tapping screws either so seller needs to remove that from listing! Wasted my time on these and threw them in the trash, not worth my time returning them.

I bought several lengths of these screws and for the most part they work fine. I did find I tossed about 10% because my phillips bits would not seat in or stay in the heads. This is a problem my bits don't have with other screws.
