White Nights watercolor paint set 12 full 2,5ml pans in metal case by Nevskaya Palitra, Saint Petersburg, Russia. High professional, extra fine.

As my first time trying the White Nights brand, I was pleased with the vibrant colors. The product was exactly as described and the paint produced expected results in relationship to water and paper.

I would say, since I’ve tried white nights in the past, with their older formula. I was told that the paint in these purple tins is a better formula, more transparent, and all the colors in the line are now lightfast !So I thought I would sell my large pallette of white nights and try these out. They are definitely more transparent, and I would love to get a bigger set of them at some point! My issue with this particular set, is the yellow ochre is literally almost unusable! Really disappointed! And one of the greens is pretty weak, so you’re gonna have to mix your own greens, and mix your own earth tones. So if that’s an issue for you, you may wanna pass on this pallette set up, and opt for another, larger set. Since for me only 10 of these are really gonna be valuable to me. I will still use them because they are really transparent and high quality! So I would say definitely worth trying out! Definitely a good introductory set for artists paint quality.

these paints are great. however, expect to receive the smaller tin pictured in the listing. i was hoping this would be the larger tin as if includes full pans. so be warned if you don’t like your paints right on top of each other this may not be for you.

The yellow ochre is so washed out its unusable. Other colors are more vibrant, but they are rough in texture, making it unpleasant to drag brush across. Pans unevenly filled. QC appears to be an issue here.

I bought this for a watercolor class because the recommended palette was out of stock. It works reasonably well, but some of the colors are a little grainy. If you are looking for a more opaque black you won't find it in this palette. Be sure to look at the manufacturer specs related to opacity, staining, etc. but seems to do well on cotton watercolor paper. I will keep using it until it is gone, but will probably not purchase again.
