Fun, yet surprisingly relatable!
This was such a funny and romantic coming-of-age story about the joy of friendships and learning to find yourself in a world where young people are expected to know what they want to do for the rest of our lives.Chef's Kiss is a good portrayal of both the parental and societal pressures young people face and that it is okay to not know for sure what career you want to go into, we don't need to know all the answers right now—that we should go at our own pace and follow our hearts.Along with all of this, it was filled with fun recipes. I found Ben to be so relatable, I knew exactly how he was feeling and the pressure he felt to not disappoint. He had a good support system in his friends and I was definitely a Liam and Ben shipper! Oh and Watson? Yeah never thought I'd find a pig to be so charming.

A bit of realism and romance with a side of pig
This comic has a sweet message - do what you love, even if it takes you in an unexpected direction. At first I was extremely confused about why a PIG, Watson, was even in the story. But he quickly became my favourite 😂

Super sweet!
Loved the story and characters so much. Ben is literally me, and I him, which made the story that much more enjoyable to read.I loved Emi and Liam, and of course, Watson. I loved all the characters really, they were all well written and the bonds they shared with each other felt special.I would love to read books similar to this!

A feel-good graphic novel
Chef’s Kiss is a sweet graphic novel and a delectable feast for the eyes! The artwork is amazing and it reminded me of a comic book art style while also having a modern feel to it. I loved the colour palette and was drawn to the pretty cover. The story follows Ben who has recently graduated from university and is struggling to find a job. I personally related to Ben and I think a lot of people can see themselves in his character. Ben is a fellow bookworm who has a passion for writing, but he soon learns that his dream job is out of reach without professional experience. Luckily, Ben sees a help wanted sign outside of a restaurant which doesn’t require any experience. He decides to apply and is hired on a trial basis. Ben needs to pass a series of challenges before he can prove himself in Le Cochon Doré.Without giving too much away, I loved Watson, the adorable food connoisseur! The foodie feel in this graphic novel is a highlight. Ben enjoys cooking in his spare time and he goes on a delightful culinary journey where he not only learns about the art of cooking but also discovers more about himself. It was lovely to see the different dishes that Ben learns to prepare in the restaurant and they all looked delicious.Ben’s friendship with his roommates Liz, Rachel and Tom was a joy to read. They are all very supportive of each other’s aspirations. All of Ben’s friends have their own unique personality traits and they have great dynamics. There are moments of humour in their interactions, as well as a sense of found family.Since the title of this graphic novel is Chef’s Kiss, I was hoping for a little more romance! The development of Ben and Liam’s relationship is subtle and cute, but the focus of the story is more about finding your way in the world.OverallA feel-good graphic novel about food, friendship and finding yourself.Thank you to NetGalley and Oni Press for the ARC.

Fofo e cativante
História leve e romântica sobre um chefe de cozinha que está iniciando a carreira e sua descoberta de um novo amor no trabalho. Gostei muito da trama e como é desenvolvida no processo de escrita desse HQ.

Fun, cute, but some contrived drama
This is a wonderful light and lovely tale about a young man trying to find his way while being heavily burdened by the very very real challenges of finding a job post graduation. Its ostensibly a workplace romance if you need more of a genre but it also covers general early twenty-something relationship dynamics. As far as positives go this was a quick story but a fun one. It had its quirks and no small amount of silliness, the characters are for the most part endearing (some side characters are a little uninspired but dont take away from the story). And there is minimal drama and maximal wholesomeness! I think they handled the reality that many young folk are facing i.e. trying hard in college (like they are told they have to) only to find out there is no equivalent payoff in the job market, really well. And it was used to set the stage and tell a story about how you might be ok if (and should be considered ok) to seek others paths besides what people want for you or what you think you want.Minor spoilers ahead****As for the negatives, Ben's friends are all a bit uninspired and bland. They feel like stock characters one might pick out to paint a picture of what people "think" twenty somethings are like. It isnt very important though as they dont make or break the story but they do take up some space with meh dialoge. Also they have a falling out which kind of comes out of nowhere and doesnt seem to match the supportive nature they set up for the friend group so it feels out of place and contrived. And the head chef character is more or less a walking chef sterotype i.e. aggressive, desiring a strict hierarchy (this is MY kitchen), and a bit dehumanizing of others. His character is fine overall and has some great moments but just felt a bit unoriginal.End spoilersOverall its a great day read and you might even learn some cooking knowledge!

bel fumetto!

omg That was cute
Absolut empfehlenswert.
