OK don't tell the airlines, but I checked this beast and said it wasn't oversized ($200 extra charge? Are you kidding?). If you measure as the airlines say, it's over the 62 linear inches, more like 64. Seems like no agent is going to discern those extra two inches though. I recently flew first class, and therefore allowed up to 70 lbs. I had it at 59 lbs and it did great. Only thing that was a little bizarre was it doesn't have a release vent. So when I picked up the crate from baggage claim, the whole top was sucked in maybe 1.5 inches. I had to unclick all the latches and let it suck in air for a minute or two before I could get the lid open. Needs a valve like the Pelican case. I have a smaller one of these, the SE920, but I haven't taken it flying yet so I don't know if it will have the same pressure issue.

This is a pretty solid box. I use mine as a checked bag for my travel office with PC, monitors, radios, and tools. It does a great job in that roll. Looking to get another one to pack Army equipment to and from drill. I would probably not take this on a deployment since it isn't quite up to Pelican standards but its pretty close and makes a great value trade in anything less than the most severe uses.

Aloha. I needed a case to use as a top-case on my Piaggio MP3 500ie Motorcycle. I wanted tough, water-tight & air-tight, and weight was an issue. Pelican makes great cases, but are significantly heavier than Seahorse cases. The SE1220 was the perfect size, ruggedness, secure (ALL Seahorse cases secure with 2 full size padlocks of your choosing), and weight. Most Seahorse cases 'nest' inside of each other, very nicely. The airline luggage carry-on sized SE920 fits nicely inside of the SE1220, with some space to spare.

Solid case, waterproof, heavy duty latches, definitely worth the investment
