Mini or micro usb charging?

No! NOT micro usb charging but rather mini-b (see photo) - so takes a type of charging cord I hadn't owned for over 10 years. That means my one-and-only cord that can charge this collar is the 21-incher that was included in the box. So when traveling with this collar I've had to darn well remember to take that particular cord with me (and that cord will NOT work for charging any of my phones, Bluetooth or other android devices - all of which use either usb micro-b or the newer usb-c connectors). The included charging cord has the mini-b end that's the right size & shape to plug into the collar; the other end is standard usb-a that can plug into any usb charger. A drawback of the 21" cord is that it's not long enough to reach from a wall charger to a table, which means the collar is always on the floor while charging. By the way, this is the 2nd time I've purchased this collar, and both times it's had the mini-b, not micro-b connecter. I thought I was ordering a micro usb collar this time, but the other comment here suckered me into buying the same collar again because I thought the manufacturer had changed it from mini-b to the much more convenient micro-b. Very disappointed to open the box and find its still mini-b. Well at least I now have a 2nd little charging cord... one to leave at home & one to carry with me. And it is a good collar.

Question 2

how do you attach this once its on the dog?  Do you have to pull the tube out of the connector each time?

My dogs are on the small and medium size, I just pull the collars over there's heads, collars are loose enough for me to do that.  I think you might have to disconnect the tube each time .

Does the light change colors? (I see it comes in different colors on the outside, but does not mention the color of the light itself)

You make your order by color.  That is, each color is one color.  The orange color is bright.  My second fav is the neon green for brightness in the woods.  The blue is a little subdued. So no, the collar does not change colors.  Each collar is a one distinct color.

I did not receive a cable to charge my collar. a micro usb will not fit so now i have a collar i can't charge. should i return my item?

The required USB charging cord has a mini-b usb connector (male) on the end that plugs into the collar (micro usb will not fit), and a standard usb-a connector on the end that plugs into a charger. I hadn't owned a mini-b cord for 10 or more years ...since modern phones and devices, so they're not typical but you can get them. It's supposed to be in the package with the collar. You should let the seller know so they can ship it to you.
