I purchased this particular book for my 24 year old daughter as a Christmas present. I was in college a few years ago, I had the opportunity to study Emily Dickinson and her poems. I shared what I learned with my daughter who from that point on was a fan of her poems as am I. She was thrilled with her "present" of Emily Dickinson's poems. I would recommend this book to any female, young, old, or in-between, to read, study, and ponder the life of Ms. Dickinson. She was not considered the "normal" woman for her times; she was a bit of an enigma.

Walt has come to be loved in our home. This sweet little book has many of his that I love as well! Great choice to read to and share with those who love poetry or you want them to love it! The poets info was so interesting to me even as the Mom.

what this little book does very nicely is make great poetry very accessible. The format is designed with 'young' people in mind, however I left my copy on a shelf during a recent family gathering and it was my 40 year old daughter who picked it up and without referring to her own children picked out her favourite poem.This is a book for everyone, if you don't already know, Emily Dickinson is one of the explorers of human nature, and every other form of nature.Finally, my favourite poem is Revery.

Oh, I'm in love with this series and am going to have to collect them all! Combining timeless poetry with beautiful illustrations for children, this book is a must have for anyone hoping to teach their children to love the classic words of Emily Dickenson!

I bought this book by accident but my 6 yo and 8 yo found it before I could return it. The vocabulary is pretty archaic and I can’t imagine they understand what they are reading. Nevertheless l, they really love the poems which are riddles. They did them until they memorized them. To my surprise sort of worked out for them.

Great book. It has some stanzas that I haven't seen before, such as the last stanza in Emily Dickinson's "Grass" poem. Such descriptive words and phrases are found throughout this compilation. The illustrations match the poems and are just as pleasing to look at as the poems feel on the ear. I really enjoy the Poetry for Young People series.

I was making a bookbasket for a Christmas event at our local library and found this and other Poetry for Young People books to be satisfactory. they containerd a good selection of poems and were delightfully illustrated. They made just the type of basket fillers for which I was searching.

Beautiful book with beautiful illustrations, bought for one of my granddaughters, 12 years of age, who loves reading and writing poetry, plus anything to do with literature and creative writing, which is certainly to be encouraged through such books. The poems, I feel, are well suited for that age and older and it is lovely that any obscure or old-fashioned terminology is referenced and explained at end of each poem. She has only just received it so I will be very interested in her opinion, which I will gladly share with you.

Lovely book, arrived in perfect condition. Good value.

This wonderfully illustrated book available at such a reasonable price is a bit too ethereal for my grandchildren. I pay them to memorize poetry (The Magnificent Memory Society), but most of these are too difficult with the concepts and vocabulary.

A beautiful little book.
