Elegant, easy to use
This mount makes the knives look classier than they are. And when we place or pull the knives from the mount, there is just a gentle pull instead of a yank and clank. There seems to be less wear and tear on the knives compared to metal mounts, too. The walnut is the real deal and a wonderful complement to the kitchen. I had to use double sided tape since it was mounted to tile. It works perfectly. I bit more expensive that some other brands, but definitely worth it!

I get compliments on these
The walnut of these knife blocks are really beautiful pieces, and have some great character. If you don't have a knife strip already, they are awesome for efficiency, safety and looks. The magnets are very strong except for near the plugs, but even there they can hold a paring knife with ease.A couple notes on installation: - I found that sticking a little bit of double sided carpet tape to the backs helped me align and level them before I drilled the holes. This makes it way easier to install. - The plugs have a slight taper, so make sure you install them the correct direction - The wood comes from the factory just a little dry, especially the end grain. Use a little bit of food grade mineral oil to hydrate them just as you do your cutting boards and knife handles, and it really brings out the character of the wood - In my case, I was mounting to the side of a cabinet instead of a wall. If you're doing the same, a #10 bolt / washer / nut works great. They feel so stable I could do a pull up on them.

Amazing quality for a simple and elegant accent to any kitchen
Quick edit to this review:Over time the wood has started to dry a little bit so expect to oil the wood every once in a while like you would a cutting board or any other un-lacquered wooden instrument. A touch of mineral oil is all that's needed.Original Review:This magnetic strip is amazing. It's made out of a single piece of wood and I imagine it's hand milled to specification depending on how you order it. I purchased a default 24" length but there's an option to purchase any length to the full inch you desire.I've uploaded a bunch of pictures since there isn't a whole lot of information on the back and that was relevant to me. There is just enough of a lip along the magnet channel that allows for 1/2" 3M VHB or gorilla tape. I'm mounting onto tile and would prefer not to drill through. I imagine 2 strips is a bit over the top but I've mounted quite a few knives and better safe than sorry. This magnetic strip is nice and discreet compared to commercial options and I also feel better about placing my knifes on it without accidentally chipping the blades. My cabinets are low enough that regular knife blocks with a vertical pull wouldn't allow the knifes to clear so this is an elegant solution to that problem. I went with Walnut wood because it seemed like it would be the closest match to my Teak cutting board, however, it's not a perfect match and that's ok and to be expected. Even the same wood wouldn't have matched as the board has changed colour over time due to regular oiling and use.I do wonder if this knife strip would need to be oiled over time but it seems fine out of the box. There are some imperfections in the wood, since this is natural wood and not some manufactured piece. You should expect this and know that this is what gives the piece character and individuality. Some criticism I would offer the maker would be the branding should be centered. It's off to one side, which is a bit odd, so I've mounted it with the logo facing down so it's not typically visible. If it were centered to the piece I would have been happy to display it. That being said, I think the extra magnets on the end outside of the mounting points is a nice touch and very much appreciated so that knives can be mounted all the way to the edge of the piece.I'm very happy with my purchase and will update if I find some issue later on. If no update has been made, assume that this piece is still flawlessly doing its job.

Knife Magnet
The magnetic knife strip has just the right amount of grip, not too strong or too weak. It works well with my oak chefs cart, it matches perfectly.

Wow. This thing is BEAUTIFUL
First off: just look at the pictures I took of this. I can’t do better than those pictures to explain how beautiful this piece of functional art is. This thing is GORGEOUS.I’m a woodworker, so I’m hard to please with stuff like this. I read the glowing reviews from others about how high quality this was, but I still expected to be disappointed. After all, it’s Amazon, right? Boy was I wrong. The wood they started with is slab-sawn purpleheart, with the annual rings almost parallel to the face. This means that the face will be beautiful and durable, with no steeple grain or other grain runout that could cause the wood to chip out when cutting. It was obviously jointed and planed because it has crisp 90° corners all around. Then it was routed on the back to install the magnets, and some actual quality wood was used to fill in the space behind the magnets (looks like walnut). Then it was sanded down to at least 400 grit, they even put a slight radius on the edges for a smooth feel and look. It’s like someone was making it for themselves and took their time getting it to be perfect.I put some butcher block cream on it (beeswax and mineral oil mix) and it just shines. It feels like silk. Not a catch or mark on the entire piece, even on the back or on the end grain. The magnets are REALLY strong. You wouldn’t want them any stronger. They’d hold up a machete with ease. I did an experiment to see what the magnet strength is and it took almost 4 lbs just to slide a flat blade up or down the face of the knife holder. It takes 2 lbs of force to dislodge a 0.5 lb cleaver pulling it away from the holder from the top of the handle, where you have the most leverage. So it’ll come off when you want it to, but not before. No knife is slipping off of this. And they even went to the trouble of placing an extra magnet outside the screw holes in either side so you could use 100% of its length. This thing is amazing. I’m gonna own this thing forever.10/10, please buy this; you won’t be disappointed. Also it’s made in the U.S.A., so you’re supporting good American jobs.

great for my new kitchen
I put a lot of consideration into the design and function of my new kitchen. It is smallish and every space is important. I love the knife strip, it holds a variety of amazing knives that also took me forever to decide upon. This strip not only functional and holds 6 large knives, very well. This strip is a great addition to my kitchen!

not for vertical install
This knife bar is very nice. Dark walnut stain. I was hoping to place my knifes horizontally but the magnet isn't strong enough for that. It works well with the knifes vertically hung.
