5'7" 120# Usually wear a 2 bottom. 4 at lulu. I think a small would be too big. Any comments?

Size Medium (8) usually fits comfy on me, but in sizing it says waist in medium is 26 1/2 in. Has anyone size 6/8 bought the medium and liked them?
