My trainer recommended barefoot shoes, how do they hold up for leg day?

I usually wear a 10.5 wide because of large bunions , should I go with a 10 or 11?

So when i was sized for my work shoes i was an 8.5, but tend to wear 9 because my feet are wide. should i go up a size?
