Great book for any parent of child with NLD
My son diagnosed with dyslexia & NLD by Ed Phyc 3 years ago, we thought dyslexia was the main issue until he reached final year of primary, when he has had severe anxiety & started getting depressed. NLD isn't heard of by experts in the UK, we've struggled to get any information. This book is refreshing, written in a light hearted yet informative way. It's helped me & his class teacher understand him better. Recommend

Good book!
I found this book helpful with lots of humour. I don't think all the suggestions pertain to all NLD kids and all families....a few suggestions...about a mother driving all over town to find a certain shirt for her son. I totally understand that happening, but what if you are a working mother??? And can't get to a store and your son is texting you at work?? (yes, has happened to me...)And some of the suggestions on teaching a child how to eat properly....(my son is so sensitive, he would take it as criticism)....But all in all a good book, with helpful suggestions.

A great help for us parents
I've had this book now for about a year, and have read it cover to cover, twice, and have taken a highlighter to it. My son was diagnosed with NLD at age five, and that was a few years back now. There has been scant reading material, but I have read whatever I could find. This was my hands down favorite. While each thing I read, book or article or website has added to my knowledge in different ways, this book gave me a little hope and humor to go along with the knowledge. The examples are great, the advice is usable, and the organization of the book is quite helpful for quick reference. The author gives doses of reality in a very supportive way, and she writes intelligently, yet not overly clinical. I highly recommend for anyone just needing some help wrapping their head around this disorder.

Raising NLD Superstars
A must-read if you have a child who doesn't seem quite normal. Nonverbal Learning Disorder (NLD) is still not understood by many health-care and educational individuals and which, if not addressed, can have a crippling effect on your child's development.Marcia Rubinstien helps you to understand this affliction and deal with it in the everyday world around you. If your child was an early talker but seemed to start stumbling as his or her education progressed, has difficulty with fine-motor skills, fidgits a lot, takes forever on homework, can't seem to hurry or get organized, you need to consider that the cause might be NLD. Mrs. Rubinstien explains NLD in lay terms with clarity and humor, and offers solutions for both child and family.
