I have flown RC helicopters and planes for years and found wind to be one of my biggest challenges when flying small light weight aircraft. Even with a lot of experience it can be difficult to tell how much wind there is when it's under 10 mph and fairly consistent. I used to check my local weather but I found going out several times a day and taking readings gave me a good idea of what to expect based on the time of day (assuming no storms). I have always flown my lightest models just before dusk so I guess it comes as no surprise that's when I have measured the lowest wind speeds, though I'm not an early riser. I'm curious to see how things change this winter.

So far I’m impressed and even more impressed at the price. That said there could be one improvement and that’s the ability to lock the reading in so you can view it. The way it is now you can only read the thing while it’s actually being used. A feature like allowing the last reading taken to remain on the screen for 3-5 seconds would be helpful bc it would mean you could set it down and look at it. Now you only have an instant reading feature and it minute you set it down to record numbers it goes off. That’s the only reason it loses a star for me

I tested this anemometer to several CFM-rated fans that I have, and this meter was very accurate. It comes with a case to keep it from damage and a charge cord. It can do all the standard units and also includes temperature as well. There is a hole in the bottom to attach it to a tripod for higher accuracy readings. It has various back-light options and seems to have a generous after-sales guarantee. This specific anemometer is the 'vane' type of anemometer, so it has blades that must be positioned against the wind for a proper reading. This is a really great unit for camping or hiking and would be great on a boat.

First of all it arrived damaged as the screen was badly scratched but Amazon arranged a refund and told us to keep and use the product. We tested it out to decide whether to purchase a replacement and glad we did! This thing is no more than a toy as neither the temperature nor the wind speed was anything lose to accurate.As sailors we bought it to use as a backup for our boat system and we checked it against the real devices. Nowhere near accurate. Don’t bother buying this as a waste of time.

Avec deux thermomètres digitaux, celui-ci indiquait une température de 3 degrés supérieure à l'autre. Sa valeur montait et descendait très rapidement. Pourtant la température était stable à l'ombre.
