Timely intervention in the field of Dalit studies
This anthology brings together an extremely diverse array of theoretical meditations on the nature of modern Dalit autobiography. What’s refreshing about the essays anthologised here is that they look beyond the content of “lived” Dalit life and explore its “telling” on page. Dalit autobiography as per this selection is not a truth telling exercise of purely sociological relevance but an aesthetic experimentation with the form of life narrative. This promising anthology will certainly be of interest to all students of literature and not just marginality studies. Highly recommended
