ROSS...................
I always thought this was so underrated as a album, some very good tracks on this set, ROSS as its called with R.C.A did not do much to help Diana out with any plugging so she was left on her todd to do it all, PIECES OF ICE is such a good dance track and should have been a big hit in its day and to get 3 mix's on this album is fab, and then the UP FRONT, not as good in my book but a great track 4 mix's and 2 are 12inch mix's and one club mix, so what more do you want, the best song I think is LETS GO UP, I have always thought this was a hit waiting to happen and just love it, great track and should have done so much more, but its the old days I suppose, so all in all a great cd and some fab mix's on this 2 cd set, so along with the other new releases if your a fan it should be got and played and to see how Diana was always happy to try some new things and see where she could go with it, some hit the mark and some don't, but that's music for you, go get this and just enjoy..............................

Overlooked in 1983 but well worth a listen...
Review of Ross (Expanded Edition)Despite being an excellent album, 1983's "Ross" unfortunately failed to light up the charts on its initial release. Overlooked and long out of print on CD, I was excited to see it finally get a reissue as it was an obvious gap in my collection. The sound of the album is generally upbeat pop/rock but there's a little bit of disco too, Whilst I don't think there is a weak song on the album, my personal favourite tracks are Let's Go Up, You Do It, Pieces Of Ice and the Jolley & Swain bonus remix of Up Front.I love the dazed look of the front cover, my only small gripe is they didn't release this edition as a gatefold package with a booklet. If you're a Diana Ross fan but have never heard this album, I recommend you buy this right away!

Album from the RCA Era
I am in the process of completing my Diana Ross collection. Wanted this as it had extra tracks in addition to the original album. Nothing on it that will go down as a Ross classic. Still a nice little product. Good quality and value for money. Arrived quickly too

that's not to say it's not good - it is
As 'ross-fan' says, this is an underrated album by Diana Ross. You have just got to get your head round that just because it's s not her previous 'Motown Sound' era , that's not to say it's not good - it is! Good songs, especially 'Love will make it right' and 'Pieces of Ice' , Great LA session musicians and superlative production, much of it by Steely Dan's producer Gary Katz- just had to be good with this man at the helm! A really good album that deserved better than what it got.

Nice to finally see Diana's RCA work on CD - Pieces of Ice is a understated classic of pop and there's a nice feel for the rest of album as a long standing fan nice to see those 12" remixes.

It's really fine to get REMASTERED and EXPANDED Diana's 6 RCA albums
It's really fine to get REMASTERED and EXPANDED Diana's 6 RCA albums. The sound is great. My only remark is that these 6 CDs come in a standard case instead of a digipack with original artwork.
