A quality product
When I adopted my puppy, I noticed that the shelter workers were using this style of lead. I knew I wanted one, and I couldn't believe they weren't available in local stores. I guess some people might think this style of lead is inhumane... but every 'Humane Society' I've been to uses them. I bought the 4 foot lead in the smaller diameter, and it's the perfect size for my 27 pound (and growing!) Wonder Mutt. The rope is very soft and a nice color. The leather has been chewed by sharp puppy teeth without breaking. It's a nice length for training, and I love the convenience of just slipping it over her head instead of dealing with clips and buckles. Every second counts when a puppy needs to potty! I don't think she has any complaints about this lead either, because she sits very politely when we put it on her. Sometimes she actually slips her head through the loop on her own. I'll be buying the 6 foot size soon.

Perfect pocket-sized leash
This leash is just the right size to be folded up to go in your pocked and the right length for most dogs to walk comfortably in the heel position. The slip design makes for easy on/off without requiring the dog to wear a collar. The leather "stopper" (to prevent the collar loop from becoming too wide) is sized nicely so that it takes some resistance to slide, which makes me feel that the dog won't easily slip out of the leash. The leash is extremely well made and looks good, too.

Easy on the hands, good quality.
My dog is a two year old Golden Retriever, adopted in May. She was AWFUL on a leash! (She's better now, but it's a work in progress.) I ordered this in pink chocolate first and loved it! But I realized it would get dirty quickly, [see domino113's review], so I decided to keep the pink one for "dress-up" and get the green one for everyday. The pink one was thicker, more luxurious feeling, and the small leather tab that holds the loop in place was easier to move than on the new green one. However, the green fits more easily in my pocket for when we get to where she can run. I'm using the Be-a-Tree method [link below] for teaching her not to pull. Four feet is the perfect length. Please everyone, remember that training takes time --lots of it. It does not happen automatically with this lead or any tool. Don't strangle your dog when you get frustrated.[...]
