The base is sturdy so my Chi feels stable. He doesn't weight much, only 1.5kg so the bag is strong enough for him. Not sure what's reinforcing the base, so I'd take out the base insert to wash. The materials look tough enough and well stitched. I did have to unzip the end a bit so my Chi felt comfortable sticking his head out. The straps could be longer. Can be worn cross body if you're slimmer than me.
