pH meter
It would help if some guide-lines were given in the preparation of the testing solutions for soil evaluation. How much distilled water to what quantity of soil? An optimal design, if such is possible, would be a unit similar to a moisture-meter, with a direct-readout in well-watered soil.

avoid this meter or others that claim to be "auto-calibrating", which they aren't really.
This pH meter is a pain to use because it must be recalibrated frequently. I gave it 2 stars rather than 1, because it's not too expensive and adequate if you only need an approximation of the pH. The seller's description says it is "Super Accurate and Reliable Meter", but it is neither. I have a dozen fish aquariums and check the pH 3 or more times per weeks of the tanks as well as testing the tap water used when adding fresh water to the tanks. When I received the meter, it was off by 0.5 when I tested the pH of laboratory grade test solutions of known pH. The seller also claim that the meter can be used to know when to add more chlorine to a swimming pool, which it can't. The meter does not test chlorine, salt, or TDS. It tests temperature accurately and gives an approximation of pH within plus or minus about 500%.I bought this meter to replace an old one I had for many years that had eventually died. This meter is so bad, I quit using it after 4 weeks and bought another brand. It takes much longer than other meters to reach a stable reading - normally 30 to 60 seconds. For testing a single thing like a swimming pool, this may not to big a thing, but when testing all of my tanks a few times each week, as well as checking the pH of new water I'm using for partial water changes, this time per test adds 20 minutes to a job that is much faster with other meters. My other meters take only 5 to 10 seconds for a reading to stabilize. The seller brags that this meter automatically calibration, but for actual use, this is a nuisance rather than a positive feature. The calibration of all such meters drifts over time, especially with inexpensive ones that aren't expensive laboratory quality meters. Other meters with an adjustment screw for calibration are really quick and easy to adjust when needed. I keep some calibration solutions like the link below, which make it easy to dip a meter in a solution with a known exact pH, and then I only need to adjust the screw on the back of my other meters to correct for any drift.https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0063MVU5S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1With this meter there is no adjustment screw. Instead you must dip the meter in two different solutions of 4.0 and 6.86, while pressing and holding the correct sequence of buttons. It is supposed to auto-calibrate itself when you perform these steps, but mine would repeated give an error for one or both test solutions, which means starting over again. It took me 30 minutes or more each time I tried to get it calibrated. After only a few days, its calibration would drift off by 0.5 or more when checking solutions with known pH of 4, 7, or 10.When making partial water changes for my fish tanks, I have to test the new water very carefully and adjust its pH, because the pH of my tap water varies from week to week from 7.0 to 8.5. When adding fresh water to the tanks, I try to adjust the new water so my fish aren't shocked and hurt by large changes in pH.In addition to the auto-calibration procedure being cumbersome and time consuming, you must use a test solution of 4 and another of 6.56. I couldn't find any pre-mixed test solutions with the required 6.86 pH. The meter included a packet of powder to mix with distilled water to make a 6.86 test solution, but the measuring and mixing takes even more time, because you must allow the mixture to gas off CO2 or the pH of the test solution will be lower than 6.86 due to dissolved CO2 in the distilled water. After a month wasting time with this meter, I gave up and bought 2 different meters with a manual calibration screw. When I'm ready to test my tanks or new fresh water for a water change, I test the first one with both meters. If I get results that differ by more than 0.1 or 0.2 from one another, then I check both meters using a standard test solutions of 4, 7, or 10 from the link above. A slight adjustment to the screw is much, much easier than messing with a "auto-calibrating" meter, which are far from automatic.Skip this meter and buy one that is not auto-calibrating and instead has an adjustment screw on the back for fixing the calibration.

robust pH meter that works great. Until it doesn't
You get what you pay for. This is an inexpensive, robust pH meter that works great. Until it doesn't. I got about 4-5 months use from mine (small personal rec grow), used it daily and always rinsed with DI water. Recently my plants were in distress and I decided to calibrate the meter to see how accurate it was. I wish I had done this sooner, because the pen wouldn't calibrate and I found that the nutrient solution I had been using, which was supposed to be pH 5.9, was actually pH 4.3. All pH sensors eventually fail, so the trick is finding the life and reliability you need at a good price point. And if you grow with hydroponics I recommend you keep a backup pen/meter and some inexpensive test strips just to make sure you're in the ballpark. This pen should be treated like US-Soviet relations in the 1980s: trust but verify.

Must Buy, Shop no more❣️👍🏼❤️
Perfect, exactly as stated- last meter you will ever purchase❣️ I purchased several others previously that were horrific, I wish I could've found this one first!! Thank you for this amazing perfect quality & price pH meter!!

Good for temperature testing water
Temp mode works well, but can’t get the PH meter to calibrate. Disappointed.

Not sure about reviews.
All the great reviews smack of 'bot' stock BS fake reviews. I'm worried now that I bought it.
